An asset like Willock would be of great value and for the player he'd be a key man who would start most matches.

However, the money has to be right.

I wouldn't mind if he stayed as a squad player but as you say he's not a giveaway, after all he's skillful and only 25, coming into his prime.

Either way whether with us or a new club, he's a good investment.

Remember when he first arrived here and was thrown, literally into the deep end, he scored in all of I think it was his first seven games and at that time it was the Premiership record for a 21 year old. And also equalled Alan Shearer's record.

Yeah man the lad has been quality at times. Someone mentioned when he and Joelinton were swapping positions on the left side it was brilliant.

He's had his difficulties with injuries and that's really the only issue. The way we play is high energy and fast paced so difficult for any player to get back up to speed.

Look at Gordon, still not looking like the player who was on fire earlier this season keeping Barnes out of the squad.

On that note, remember when Barnes wasn't playing how a lot of social media people were saying he was sh!te and that what was the purpose of buying him?

Then he proves exactly why when Gordon is unavailable.

That is the levels of competition we need in every position across the field.

So shipping Willock out is one thing but we're gonna then have to get one more player, on top of the 3 or 4 we need already through the door.

As things are with Transfers, Us being Premier League team ENEMY No.1 to the rest and also the PSG BS, making things happen for our key targets is gonna be hard enough, adding more players to replace just adds to that challenge.

Better the devil you know in a lot of cases. It's not like Willock is a Wilson, who's never available.

TT made a very good point about squad depth.

Is he a stsrter? No, not really. But is he a decent squad player? Absolutely.

Exactly, with the need for 8 Home Grown players Willock is proven quality at this level.

Selling him to replace him with you?

We're gonna ship Longstaff as he's just not at the level we need to rotate the squad. Pure profit - academy product.
-Selling him makes sense from a PSR stance, sad that one of our own is seen in this light.

So we need to find another midfielder already. My choice as mentioned is McAtee.

Expecting the recruitment team to go out and find a 2nd quality prem proven Midfielder is a big ask.

They're already gonna be focused on bringing in - A Striker, A Right Winger, Right CB & a Goal Keeper. + Longstaff replacement.

    That's 5 signings already.

Eddie won't want to bring in 6 or more players for squad cohesion reasons.

If the rumour is true that Joelinton is out for the rest of the season, were about to find out if Willock is good enough or not!

He was certainly good enough when he first arrived here helping to drag us up from the depths of the league.

When he was pondering whether or not to sign, like Trippier, he must have seen something coming in the future to have been confident to sign. He and Trippier deserve the fruits now arriving for risking their careers on the dream.

Certainly seems to be the topic of conversation on several media channels.
