They don?t need a passport to get from GB to Northern Ireland or to get from NI to Ireland, so I believe

GP, you’re an intelligent chap, who often speaks sense. Can you please think about the consequences before you write such utterly offensive bollux as this. I don’t doubt it’s true…just completely unacceptable, populist and offensive sh*t.

Put half a dozen of the boats onto the bottom of the channel and numbers trying to cross would drop dramatically. If as in your point 5 asylum seekers are such a small porportion of immigrants, then the rest sent to see Davy Jones must by definition be illegals?

As to whether such illegals carry out more crime, I guess the answer lies in the fact that poverty and deprivation leads anyone (migdant or not) to turn to crime more readily. In my view the connection between illegals and for instance (to cite TTR) grooming gangs is far from proven as this has been a blight on society for much longer that the channel crossings - far more likely legal migrants/second generation if indeed an ethnic issue.
Its not a case of blaming the right wing media, its an actual fact that Farage and others of his ilk plus certain media with a right wing bent (Mail, Telegraph, Express GB News for example) , do emphasise and focus the number of people crossing by boats as if they were all undeserving criminals and terrorists, without a shred of evidence and indeed (as with the Southport tragedy) seek to attribute race and ethnicity to incidents, whilst giving much less focus on white people who commit similar crimes. The ethnicity of a perpetrator is blown out of all proportion creating a bigger problem than is actually the case. I realise that they are only pandering to the baser instincts of some of the population, who feel comfortable blaming foreigners for the ills they suffer in life, I guess its a basic human instinct to find scapegoats, even if it contradicts reality?

Well lets establish a fact that there is no such thing under international law as an "illegal immigrant", then lets refer to the House of Commons Library that states that in 2023 11% of all immigrants were Asylum seekers. The others came by authorised routes.

The causes of crime are many and affect anybody irrespective of ethnicity, poverty, mental health, etc. There are cultural issues, but to pin say a devaluation of women on Muslims for example, overlooks the not insignificant number of white people who have committed crimes whether as so called incels, jealous husbands, partners ex's etc.

Given that 78 asylum seekers died attempting to cross the channel in 2024, I'm not entirely sure that your warm and humane suggestion of putting half a dozen boats to the bottom of the channel would resolve the issue. I mean these people have in the main already survived harsh regimes or war zones and a perilous journey to get to the channel in the first place. But I presume that your casual suggestion of murder indicates that you think their less human than others?

I might suggest that a better option would be to process their claims on the other side of the channel as was suggested during Brexit negotiations, but hey I guess a common sense and fair and humane approach isn't nearly as much fun is it?

No, that would break up the happy karass* of like minded persons who reject all opinion that isnt the same as their own and ignore it. Still worse who seek to sideline it by belittling it. TTR's style of putting forward his views isnt the best but those who seek to ignore it do so at their own peril. Need I point out the voting pattern / polls showing the proponderance of people sharing TTR views.

It was the same in Nazi Germany where those in the middle or left chose to ignore the clear threat from the right. Most "good thinking Germans" Ignoring it or tolerating it as an easy way out - now remind me, how did that work out?

*see Cats Cradle, as you likely are of the right age to know
As I pointed out, that might be relevant in real life, but on this Forum? No point whatso ever and there will still be a number of centre right, with the odd further right view points expressed on here. The fact that AF bridles at being described as centre right just shows how far the Overton Window has shifted to the right.

In point of fact, voting pattern and polls don't indicate a preponderance of people sharing the dim red ones views. It is much more nuanced than that. With people who were right leaning, have in some instances gone further right to Reform, but then some who were left leaning or centre right have gone towards the Greens or the Lib Dems and others just not voting. Even in the US, Trump only just got over half the votes cast.

It does amuse me that people think a party led by a lying grifter who spends more time making money than doing his job as politician, who got it so wrong with Brexit, which hasn't improved their lives in any way, still willing to vote for him, but then obviously there are some very stupid people out there.

untrue. we could only return those, with existing asylum claims in the EU. Even then, if they've tossed away their Id and invented a new identity, we get no where either.

Unless it has since been resolved but one doubts it. I suppose depends where those appearing in Ireland have come from, if via the UK maybe that's why

Of course our nige has promised to sort it, without actually detailing how he's going to legally achieve it.
again, please read the Dublin agreement. It never was what the left peddled
