Observerpie's poll - Promotion or not. What's the point!

Fortunately, the 30 people who represent this 87% saying no, are only a fraction of the 5,000 views.

The mind set has to be positive from the fans. Any griping about what's gone before in the season is completely irrelevant.

My advice to all gloomsters is shut it until after the season is over.
It was a very timely and accurate OP, ThaiPie.

Just an observation, and never any doubt on anyone's 'right' to express, duh, but this board is like walking into Mental Health institution for the clinically depressed (and maybe there IS an epidemic of that in the UK, if this board is anything to go by).

We haven't been in an EFL play-off campaign since 2018. It's supposed to be exciting, one of the best times to follow your team's fortunes.

Our Coach is underwhelming, and that's being generous, we blew a great position (and so did others), we have some really good players and many mediocre ones, we had terrible injury luck. So f***in what, boo hoo hoo, woe is me. Fans seem to want to feel certain that we'll get through the play-offs in order to enjoy them. There's no such right. Four clubs, four fanbases vie for 1 spot, 3 of them end-up heartbroken (in the sporting sense). That's the nature of the beast, and part of the fun - high stakes football matches. Can't beat them.

Exactly, support the team and club.
If it goes pear shaped, as it did against Coventry...we go again.

Have you ever considered that those who voted that we won't go up do support the team and club?

In my case I've supported the team and club for 54 years and renewed my ST to make it 55 years, and there are plenty who can beat that. Some of them go to every game home and away, can you match that?

Personally for the record and acting as a peace maker - I think it's totally cool to express a bit of vexation, frustration etc. Like it's f***ing frustrating business supporting Notts (and to be fair most teams). That said I think ThaiPie has a valid point - as in some people come across super ****ing doom and gloom and we want the Super Notts to do well and that needs a fair bit of optimism.. Personally I find it depressing when people are already decided that Maynard is ****, Notts are ****, we can't ever go up, only 3057 people will turn up for the play off game, the owners are evil, the recruitment team are clueless etc etc...because actually these are ****ing alright times (by most standards - and by that I mean well well well above average for the 45 years I've watched Notts).

I think you see it on most social platforms, people who have an issue vent more than people who basically think things are ok or even good.

I?ve found it draining all season as I think a lot was unfounded. The fact now we aren?t creating as many chances the negativity has finally caught up with me and I?ve almost lost interest.

I?ll be at the home game and might even try to get to Wimbledon, but the snowball effect this season I literally can?t remember feeling this underwhelmed about a playoff campaign.

The truth is no one?s in cracking form in the playoffs and I imagine a lot feel the same, no more so than Walsall fans.
