Once players like JJ are doubled up on, he becomes nullified. All 3 of those players you mention also do little in the way of defend and as such there energy is on attack attack attack. Just to be completely pedantic, they all play in possession based sides.

My point is Jarvis is right footed but prefers the left side that is his position the days of wingers tearing to byline & crossing are gone, how many sides do that all game ?

Well id argue you have to defend in the PL you dont see any Le Tissiers now you have to pull your weight so to speak otherwise you not make it.

I agree wing back system needs to go but whose idea is it as all our coaches under RM as sporting director have played it ?

My hope is they have seen that L2 is way harder than the NL at the top end so we need to find the missing pieces, its obviously not that easy in the real world though !

I'm not completely sold on possession -based football. It worked in the Conference because our team was miles better than everyone elses except Wrexham and Chesterfield. We have been found out in League 2, because the players are not good enough to do it effectively when up against better quality opposition. It's too easy to defend against and we end up in situations like on Saturday, when in a must win game we just didn't trouble the keeper.

However, that being said, it is still League 2. Players will make mistakes when put under pressure. What we need to do is press teams aggressively and get balls into the box quickly. We need more speed and more power and we need to deploy our players in their best positions. Football really isn't that complicated.

Football is definitely not complicated (especially at lower levels) but it is also not easy.

To be a promoted side you need to get so much right both off and on the pitch

You say gone are the days that wingers get to the byline etc? so if all the teams are not doing it, means defences train that way.. maybe Notts could mix it up and do both?
What also went out of fashion and has been mentioned a ridiculous number of times in recent weeks, is the long throw.
Football has a habit of doing full circle.

That is correct if you look there just isnt many wingers or as McGoldrock said mavericks anymore.

We need Andy Legg to be cloned with Big Devon in the box with Strodder that is what we need/miss.

In other words, we need players like Bugiel and Lewis from Wimbledon.

I think you do need a mix yes to be a success.

I think most fans knew that though nothing new in my views.

I suppose it helps when you have the funds to splash out on better players! That said, Parky definitely seems to get the best out of his players, can't fault him for that. You're on a great journey right now, and I certainly hold no grudge against you in that respect but make the most of it while you can, nothing good ever lasts for ever, or in our case nothing good ever lasts longer than a season!!

Even though we are possession based we have mixed it up and it hasn?t been a case of keeping the ball in at all costs as it was under LW where players struggle and we end up letting a howler in.
I don?t mind the style, like any football style if you do it badly it looks awful.
We need Leadership, Physicality and Pace in the side as these have been missing for years. It?s easy in the NL to play keep ball and teams on their knees after 60 mins but L2s clearly a different animal.
