I'm with Durham and have said the same a few times. Easy to say get another coach, like they are on the shelves at Lidl. There was a possibility, even right to the last month, that we might have got up. Rushing to get a coach before the new director of football arrived, and then maybe having to live with that rushed decision for some of next season, then another sacking - that's not how the Bros work, they have more patience than that.
Nobody knows why the Saunders brothers left but we do know we filled their role with Alves.
The owners have to take some blame though if they deliberately sacked off the season or pit another way didn’t give the CLUB the best chance of promotion.
The recruitment was frankly awful in Jan and everybody knows it and not one of the signings started the home game against Wimbledon that is telling regardless of what I/we think of Maynard those players were nowhere near good enough and that isn’t on the head coach either.
Is it right for him to go ? Yes but others at the club need to learn from this signing young talent is fine but you do need someone who is going to be a starter to push you on.
I think the owners certainly look at whether the head coach can get the best out of the talent they sign.
SM seemed not to know how to do that and neither did NA - the only two that have been let go by the brothers.
The model is to sign potential and have them be coached to be better to serve the club whilst they are here and potentially demand a transfer fee to better the position of the club as whole.
Out of the 3 head coaches that have been brought in under their ownership 2 have gone to clubs in a higher league for compensation. It?s a pretty decent track record that deserves respect IMO.
