This will Cher you up Gristy;
Evan Davis, presenter of Radio 4's PM programme, has been made to give up co-hosting the non-BBC podcast 'Happy Heat Pump.'
The podcast explored how heat pumps work, their advantages and drawbacks, and the contribution they can make to reaching net zero by 2050.
Davis commented, "I think the timetable set of net zero is slightly in play as an issue politically. and so people who want us not to go full-on for net zero 2050 will pick up the problems with heat pumps ...I had this argument with the BBC - it's more about net zero than about this particular form of heating."
Meanwhile, back in sunny Gaza, nine children of Dr Alaa al-Najjar's family were blown up in an Israeli air strike. Her husband, also a doctor, and one surviving child are seriously injured.
The IDF presumably had identified the children as future Hamas terrorists.
So you mention the fact that she did her inaugural speech in Urdu, I presume making the point that she is dismissing the majority of the population and that?s fine.
I make a point (sarcastically) that one of her chosen charities seems to dismiss the massive issue in the town and focusing on one that doesn?t seem to be a big problem in the town (but is basically the same issue just to a different colour of skin) and I?m being flippant?
That?s strange logic from you there.
Labour will be happy the full council election in Rotherham isn't until 2028.
He didn't mention the ‘fact’ that she gave her speech in Urdu. He copied and pasted an article from an unidentified source that said that she was born in Pakistan (she wasn't) and that Rotherham is a city (it isn't). The article also implied that there was something irregular in her having been appointed to her (purely honorary) position by councillors (just like every other mayor that Rotherham has had). With those obvious inaccuracies on display, I would question whether anyone could be satisfied that the reference to her giving her speech in Urdu is true. I would also question where howdy came by that information.
I stand to be corrected (as always) but it may be that she gave part of her speech in Urdu to reflect her heritage and the makeup of the Rotherham population but I’m not convinced that’s a hanging offence or even an issue.
You say that one of her chosen charities seems to dismiss the massive issue in the town. How does that work? There are a host of charities that touch upon issues within the town. Does favouring one that she might have an insight into mean that she is dismissing every other cause? Clearly not.
I thought it was supposed to be the liberal left who search for things to be offended by?
Maybe she should be judged by her term as mayor and not by the 'fear' some people seem to have around her gender, ethnicity, religion...? After all, weren't most of the wearers of the mayoral chain during Rotherham's 'darkest hours', white, Christian, men?
