anyone else getting a little bit nervous that we haven't appointed anyone yet?

Sacking the head coach without a replacement lined up? Not really the brothers' style, I would've thought.

At least they did it at the end of the season so it's not necessarily a deathblow to the next one.

There were 13 days between Williams's departure and Maynard's appointment, there were 18 days between Burchnall and Williams. It's been 8 days so far, I wouldn't worry.

Reassuring, but those weren't self inflicted emergencies like this one is...

Maynard was a mid season appointment so you want to get your man in as quickly as possible, and that one still took nearly 2 weeks. Like I said, I wouldn't worry.

True. The only other time the bros sacked a manager, IB was appointed within a few days. That said, I think Ardley was sacked at that time specifically because IB was available. I'm certain they'll have a list of potential coaches to go to, so they won't be starting their search from scratch. We should hear something next week I'd imagine.

I don't for one second consider the action the Bros have taken to be an emergency. In a rare glass half full moment I would like to think that they may have realised that they need to stop speculating if they really want promotion and get a person with a proven record in to get the job done.

    This isn't an emergency.

Treat it like that and we'll get a knee-jerk reaction appointment.

Take time, get the right man.

Why do you consider this one to be an emergency?

I agree. Plus it's bank holiday week as well so people will be away on holiday generally and in the football world many players and coaches will be away from early may until early June. Players don't need to report back for pre-season training for a month.

As I mentioned in another thread the club did not announce Luke Williams until 14th June so if it takes another two weeks to announce someone who will be the right person then so be it.

I don't think waiting for the manager is going to be a problem as our model seems to be reliant on a recruitment team identifying the players with only a small input form the manager.
