MK Dons seems obvious what with Crowley and Nemane and with Paul Warne connection but time will tell.

On reflection to give the new head coach as much support as possible then it seems sensible for both parties to look to the next couple of seasons.

As always the players and coaches leaving are only one half of the story. The second half is who comes in to replace them.

I can understand some peoples frustrations. When you compare the squad that finished the 23/24 campaign to what we currently have in the building we have lost Langstaff, Crowley, Nemane and now Didzy. Add to the list Abbott. That is five key players that have creativity, quality, pace and firepower.

We will need five to come in who have all the qualities those five had if we want to be automatic promotion contenders in my opinion. It seems like a clearing of the decks and a clean slate and a rebuilding when we add in a head coach and coaches.

A big couple of months awaits. As for Didzy it’s been a pleasure to watch a Nottingham boy and one of our own put in performances and have the quality. One of the best +35 players I’ve seen in a Notts shirt.
I think there are lots of good reasons to let Didzy go but it still feels like we?ve missed an opportunity to get the best of both worlds - the owners have made a binary cost related decision. What they could have done is made him a player coach which arguably mitigates the wage issue by 50%. He?s a very clever footballer and excellent with the younger players by all accounts, and so I think we?ve not been very innovative around keeping an excellent talent on and off the field.
