I know a few Rochdale fans and they all think Waller was very good, sadly for Booth I think he might be looking at another season on the bench while we develop someone else?s player.

Tommi O?Reilly on loan from Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old midfielder has penned a season-long agreement after a deal was reached with the Premier League side.

O?Reilly, a creative and attacking player, spent the first half of last season on loan with Shrewsbury in League One and the second half with MK Dons in League Two.

Not incoming but staying. Shilow has signed again for up to 2 years. I'm sort of glad that it has been done but for human reasons rather than football ones. Although he clearly made a difference in getting the ball forward, I don't see his signing as progress unless his decision making/final ball can be seriously worked on. The other point is that we probably won't see him until next year.
What do other people think? 🤔

Hopefully the structure of the deal is such that we are not paying full wages until back fully. If this was purely a business decision you would likely have helped from a medical perspective but waited to see if full fitness was achieved before offering a contract. Lots of players are not the same after major injury. I think all he had was pace, as said above, no end product, so if that pace is diminished by injury then it may prove a mistake, but it is an arrangement we can end after a year. I suspect it will be early 2026 before we see him back fully to make an assessment. Let us hope it is not a years wages for little. Saying all of that, the above is a commercial view. I personally wish him all the very best, hope he gets back to his best and uses the months of injury to work on the mental aspects of the game - he could be a fantastic addition to the squad in the second half of the season.

If the club can see that Shilow will make a full recovery then its a reasonable deal to make, obviously a one year deal would not work as we won't see Shilow until next year and he may only be available for the final few games of the season, if he is available for the second half of the season that would be a bonus, so realistically only a two year deal is an option.

Outgoing: shame about Nathan Robinson. He seemed like he had potential. Is he going to the States on a college scholarship?

It seems very likely as a young pro footballer going to a US college, but they haven't specifically said. If he's still not able to play they may be assessing him in his first year of course.

Now we hear Tabs, even if he gets ahead of schedule, is likely out for the whole season after an operation - no wonder LB wants another 4 (and needs to settle Williams and Bogle soonest. Williams will be keen to play somewhere - could Bogle be threatening to just draw his wages unless he gets a sweetener to go?)

I see in the full tape of his press conference LB confirms Nathan will be playing some football at his College while getting his education up to scratch before hopefully going on to a University. I guess he may be going to a Junior College, and hoping to move to a scholarship on a big program at a University later in his academic career in the States.

Lots of sites referring to Alex interest in Dion Rankine, a winger from Wigan. Another relative youngster, who was at the match on Saturday. Apparently Burton and Barrow have expressed an interest as well.
We really need to see some progress, at the very least on the one or two mentioned by LB in his interview. There also ought to be a couple of new faces in the line up on Wednesday night. Otherwise the season will be upon us.
