    Ashes Year.

With three Ashes series to be fought out this year - in Rugby Union, Rugby League and cricket - over the forthcoming months, good to see the British and Irish Lions put us one up earlier today.
Great performance for the first fifty minutes and we should really have been out of sight by half time.
Love seeing the British Isles come together to form such a formidable team. Credit to the Aussies for not chucking in the towel, but Andy Farrell will sort out any complacency and we were by far the better side. Long may it last.

I fear that the ESI Lions will be our only success out of the 3.

I don't know enough about northern rugby to assess the league team but seem to recall the Aussies always beating England. As for cricket, I fear an Aussie team in transition will have too much in their conditions with the 3 pacemen and the underrated Lyon.

You’re right GP, the Aussies have had the upper hand in RL but there have been some close run things. Got my ticket for the 2nd Test at Hill Dickinson in November anyway and ever hopeful. Probably agree about the cricket, but then I think being 2-1 up in the current series against India is a bit of a pleasant surprise.

Family friend making his debut for England rugby today vs USA. Trust a hatrick ensues although it's rare in second row

2-1. Outplayed this time. Too many injuries to manage a clean sweep but a series win is what matters.
