Timbertop hasn’t nailed anything. I don t know anyone who overall is happy with last nights performance.
At times it was shocking. However we did show second half some positive play. Quick mobile and dangerous. The supporters who are trying to focus on the positives are mature and balanced enough to understand that it’s going to take time to get better.
It’s been the sane with every manager apart from Warnock. We win and were works beaters we lose were pathetic.
Our fan base imo just wants to win it’s that simple and the manager is either liked or disliked. It was the same with SE last season.
We can’t keep sacking managers and we are trying to go fine the young hungry footballers route who we can coach and sell for a profit.
Peterborough are lauded for this. Do they play well every week of course they don’t.
For me I wish everyone would just give it time instead of constant negativity.

Some of our "fans" are just itching for failure.

He can't say anything negative because the scenario he's facing involves either shipping him out (talk him up, make him seem appealing for potential suitors), trying to get the best out of him (talk him up, clearly the SE tactics failed on everyone), or sitting him on the bench while the only legitimate option is injured. Unfortunately we sometimes have to play a bit of a game when managing because honesty can be far more damaging than truth with good intentions. Ideal world scenario we dumped him a year ago, or this summer at worst.

We made it through a cup game. That's not something any Miller takes for granted, and maybe there's a few quid to be made from the next round and, importantly, another competitive game with no real consequences to our season where we can get the young lads to get minutes under their belts. I appreciate some are impatient, but if fans are going to moan at both the style of play and the result, then it's getting beyond silly.

Three games in and we've had success in two and lost by a goal in the other. We have signed (permanently) some young prospects who (in some cases) already show real promise. Fees have been paid in some cases, not just a ramshackle bunch of 30+ free signings and loanees. We even farmed JCH out. The doom and gloom around this board is ridiculous.

No doom from me positives from last night. Still think McGuckin he's got scope only got back from injury wouldn't have been fully match sharp. Midfield still lacking something but Yearwood played better 2nd half. James Clarke needs to used more now.

I thought hugill played ok last night. Not an eye catching performance but a steady 6/10. Don't forget he was playing like a sole striker due to mcguckin not being match fit.
This team will be fine this season and can see a top 10 finish. . Not ideal for the glass half empty gang.
Btw love the comments about 2 AVG teams. Always the same when we win. Haha.

Extraordinarily generous with a 6/10. I’d go for 3/10 at best. I struggle to see what’s going off with him. Either he was never very good, or his fitness has declined sharply since he joined us, or he simply is a bitter player who thinks himself better than RUFC.

I also think a top 10 finish is wishful thinking. Even more so now Nombe will be missing for at least a few months and maybe more.

The next 5 matches will set the tone.
