Why did we bother even having a go at all - pointless

The injustice was magnified with the goal.

At times today Rice was pretty much unplayable. My gosh what a player this lad is and the ground he covered to nod in the second was Gerrardesque.

Without any argument Dubravka, Walker, Esteve, Tuanzebe, Hartman, Luis, Ugochukwa, Cullen, Anthony, Mejbri, Tchaouna, Flemming & Humphreys are all good enough for the EPL.

Arsenal are one heck of a well organised side with one of the world's best midfield players making them tick. Luis just got under the ball for a header that should have been put away, and Edwards hit the post with a sensational free kick at the death.

Anyone who was bored watching this game need to take up fishing or knitting.

Arteta has been running the Gunners for nigh on six years in the EPL and it took him time to win the EPL. Arsenal will walk the title and we gave them a game.

On today's performance we will stay up, no doubts for me now.
You should take claret glasses off and actually watch the game every now and then - all our play consisted off was sitting deep and hoping we could break away - whilst the wide men let Walker and Hartman be consistently under pressure by not doing their jobs.

Name me one time a 1v1 where our wide men( that started the game ) went at their full backs to commit them - we left Fleming doing a Stirling job upsetting their centre backs and winning his fair share too , but no one close enough or with the will to get to him to get us up the pitch.

When we actually did manage to push up the pitch a little Laurent involved his confidence or his instructions were to go backwards ( it was there for all to see ).

Teams that are good at what they do and Arsenal are ( though boring ) exploit weakness in an instance.

Walker was so frustrated later on that he tried to help and shut down to help Fleming out a bit

I think in truth aswell Cullen - Ugo and Florentino are too similar and we get suffocated centrally and dragged out of shape as teams exploit the spaces behind the wide men.

Boring I said and boring it was - didn’t get me off my seat - we offered next to
Nothing and they were just efficient at exploiting weakness ( rices goal was the highlight really).

As I said for me if we aren’t going to try and win games before we kick a ball what’s the point ?

We had a plan A to try and frustrate ( I understand that ) but it wasn’t working we had decent possession ( all of it in our third to middle of park ).
So we had no pace in behind and no help for Fleming and our manager didn’t try once to alter that until he realised Anthony has had 3 games away with the fairies and isnt offering any threat or ambition - same at the other side as it goes.

    Plan b - plan c ?

So you see my point - I love the club and always have but I watch football to enjoy it truth is we had no intention of having a go or changing it up - or real pace to worry them and for me Parker’s plan was not to get beat by many.

I’d rather have lost 5-2 or 6-3 and had a go than be bored by our lack of ambition

Pick the best 11 and try to win especially at home - it’s all a bit too nice for me - that’s good description of some of our players Nice .

I am with you Army88. As soon as the second goal goes in, or perhaps latest at half time. Remove the defensive shape and go in search of it. Take off Laurent non insurance policy, a failed experiment. Take off JBL and replace with Hannibal and Tchouna and have a right go, get the fans on the edge of their seats. Further subs to come later.
Positives for me were a silent Saka, and Eze for most of it. We have a really good bottom half team, premier league quality all over the pitch, but not Arsenal or Man City quality obviously.

It's almost Christmas so I'm going to dig deep and buy Scotty Parker a Magic Wand.

He will give it one wave and suddenly we will be able to take on and beat the best teams in Europe.

We will be able to rip new arseholes for teams who concede no goals in ten games, lose three times a year and then go to the Bernabeu and stuff Real Madrid.

Another wave of the wand might end the obvious bias the PMGOL referees show to the Big City teams. Yesterday was pfhucking embarrassing, every 50/50 call went to Arsenal, two non-corners awarded to the team who use corners as goals.

One other thing. We have 22 professional outfield footballers who practice or play almost every day and not one of them are capable of taking a corner like Declan Rice.

Every corner he takes is hit with laser like accuracy towards half a dozen 6 foot plus athletes who can attack the ball with unmatched ferocity.

I refuse to criticise the Clarets who matched the Gunners for large parts of this contest.

Unfortunately, we do not have a Declan Rice but we have Kyle Walker who is almost as good. COYC.

We lost the Championship last time round on goal difference. Scotty might not wish to repeat the trick when the relegation places come round.

Post-match Arteta said it was a difficult afternoon and he was happy to come away with three points. Credit to the Arsenal fans too, they turned up in good numbers, swelled Pace's bank account and a good afternoon was enjoyed by all.

If any person was truly bored watching this contest you are wasting your time. Try golf or fishing, or shopping with the wife to pass away your Saturday afternoons. UTC#

That’s just obnoxious isnt it - i or others didnt say that we’d beat them hands down and we onow well get nothing from the officials - ill put it down to fishing again as I always say i day what i see.

The other thing is as i said previously to you you should have been a politician as you take what people say / opinions and flip them to make us sound like we’re slagging the team off - either that or you just don't absorb what peole write.

You my friend are deluded the game was boring for us ( Arsenal are boring to watch ) but very efficient at what they do.

Parker need s to play his strongest 11 to start and decide what his plans are and for me not accept a small defeat before we start the game.

Your sarcastic and derogatory words won?t change that for me

I am puzzled as to how the manager can take a player off when the second goal is scored or at half time when he didn't actually come on untll the 62nd minute. It used to be Marney, until fans finally realised what he contributed in his third season with the club. It was then followed by Hendrick who was possibly the most slagged off player in recent times. Then it was Brownhill who lots criticised for not staying this season, even though the same people criticising were shouting out that he was not good enought for the PL. Now it is JBL, who should have been taken off before he even came on.
Nothing changes at the Turf these days ----who wil be next?

The moaning Minnies on here are the worse we have ever had mein freund.

No matter what anyone thinks the EPL matchdays are a fantastic spectator experience. We are back amongst the big boys and have a chance of keeping our place.

My three youngest grandkids love the whole experience.

    Rejoice!
