    Against the Magpies

Cardy has made some changes with Hartman dropped along with Anthony and Flemming. Tchouana also warming the bench.

Broja starting, along with Ogocgukwa and Pires.

Good to see Tr?sor on the bench.

Let?s see what that produces. Can?t be worse, can it?

I agree CiB. I don?t know the story behind his situation but, from the rare glimpses, he is a talent that is being wasted at BFC.

He came on as a sub in a cup game earlier in the season and made an immediate impact but then disappeared again.

Good start and looked a threat. A harsh decision against Pires though. The Newcastle lad did not have the ball under control and did dive. The penalty though, for FFS sake. What was Ocochugwa doing? Bloody suicide squad.

I do think that Pires offered more than Hartman though.

Walker a liability again. Senseless fouls. Surely, neither Robert’s nor Sonne can be worse?

Broja has been disappointing. He brings height to the defence, but in attack has offered little.

    What can one say anymore?

Cardy made changes but there are fundamental problems. The biggest problem is the lack of quality at this level. I don?t like criticising players, many of whom are trying their best. However, Cullen for example, sent over a couple of long balls that a League 2 defender could cope with all day.

Another problem is the space that we give the opposition. When we had possession so often two or three Newcastle players surrounded our player whilst Newcastle had the freedom of the pitch on too many occasions.

Then there are individual performances - Dubrovka beaten from a corner, Worral 6 yards out puts it 8 yards wide, Broja can?t jump, Foster anonymous, JBL under no pressure sends in a ball that not even Crouch could reach, Walker senseless fouls on the half way line, Florentino needs time in League 2 as he isn?t PL quality.

And then we have Cardy. The style of play has no identity. He is reluctant to play attacking footballers. He brought Edward?s on with about 1 minute to play. Edward?s created a good chance in that one minute.

I am 60 years old Swiss and even I could have got my head on that cross - that is how bad they are.
