SBRed Match Thoughts Barnsley v Blackpool

Well let's hope we can build on that superb performance at Anfield on Monday night and have a better second half of the season starting tomorrow .

We've shown what we are capable of and there's no reason why we can't kick on in my opinion if Hourihane sticks with that system , we looked a very good league one side on Monday night and not one just above the relegation zone .

I hope we can take the confidence from Anfield in todays fixture , but obviously our issues at home have not gone, the emphasis is to take the game to Blackpool and look for goals with decent entertaining football but at Liverpool we played with a defensive structure designed to stay organised and hit on the counter ,whilst that structure will not operate like that today and Blackpool will look to play on the break and play on our defensive frailties . I would like to think that we can bring the team spirit and commitment we showed on Monday into today and put the graft in to earn our rewards , I think it will be tight and none of the three outcomes would surprise me , fingers crossed for the win , we will see.

    No DKD due to illness.

100% correct, Olias. Let?s see where he goes and how much we get or don?t get.

But on to today, what a fantastic result. It seemed like a much improved performance as well, which has been much needed of late. That result has gives us a much needed boost. To say that we only had one striker also is makes the whole result so much sweeter and to do to Blackpool what that did to us with the last minute winner. Makes this win today so much more sweeter.

Also we played well again without Connell in team. I totally get he is a very good player but sometimes the good ones need to have some time out to reset and go again when needed.

Sorry to p on you and Rus"s bonfire but I have a good mate on the ground staff who I spoke to half time behind the west stand who assured me that DKD was definitely ill , no conspiracy here , he might well be sold before the end of the window but the club were being genuine to
    day.

Seemed a bit suspicious to me that we signed Lennon from Boro who DKD has been linked with and then he's missing the next game!
We will see? His family are in that neck of the woods as well, Boro well positioned for a Premier League return as well, when the pieces are there the jigsaw tends to fit i'm afraid.
We did really well today another win on Tuesday and we are climbing nicely! However we need bodies in and quick, this squad is very, very light now!

It?s ok Shad?s. It just one man opinion. But things like this usually end up with a player going. Yes I totally agree Perky. We need two centre forwards big time but to bring in two and expect them to hit the ground running is a massive task. We need one more centre half. And it would be awesome if we could bring in a more mature central midfielder. Just to manage games more when a steady level head is needed.

Just to be completely random I would look at bringing in Darren Moore in for the defensive coach side of things. He was a great defender but couldn?t play football. But he was never brought in for this footballing ability.

Pleased with the win and just what the doctor ordered , I didn't see the game as I'm putting wardrobe up this weekend and having a nightmare with it too , those instructions are about as good as the ones Marcus Schopp gave out in the last championship season and I'm responding to them like the players did , baffled , confused and getting extremely frustrated .

However unlike the last championship season it ain't beating me ....................... hopefully !!!!!

The trick to this animal is not to follow the instructions and do it as you see it lol.

Also stick to the plan not the mood. Have an idea of how it should flow and follow your instincts. And you will be just fine. With out buying a new wardrobe as it?s a thousand peace?s all over your room lol.
