Donald Trump has praised "very brave" British soldiers who served in Afghanistan after fierce criticism of his claim non-US troops had stayed back from the frontline.

He said Britons "were among the greatest of all warriors" as he acknowledged the 457 who died and many "badly injured".

"The GREAT and very BRAVE soldiers of the United Kingdom will always be with the United States of America!" Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"It's a bond too strong to ever be broken," the president added.

Ask yourself a question. Why didn't he say this initially?

I'll give you a probable answer; because he doesn't believe it.

Another point you have seemingly forgotten. NATO isn't just the Brits and the Americans. Per capita the Danish lost as many troops as the Americans.

And what about the other nations that contributed to the coalition and suffered casualties? Is Trump going to issue apologies country by country? Of course not.

If you read his statement carefully it isn't an apology. He doesn't apologise because he's incapable of recognising that he's ever wrong. He is a narcissist par excellence.

Take your MAGA hat off and put it in the bin. And try looking at the bigger picture.
