It looks like Odysseas Vlachodimos has no intention of returning to Tyneside. Reports coming out of Spain suggest the Greek goalkeeper has given a "definitive yes" to joining Sevilla on a permanent basis this summer.

He has been a massive hit during his loan spell in La Liga, and Sevilla now view him as the cornerstone of their squad for next season. ​However, there is a major gap between the two clubs when it comes to the transfer fee. Sevilla are reportedly prepared to offer around ?5m, but Newcastle are holding out for a much higher figure to recoup more of the ?22m they paid for him just two summers ago.

​The situation is starting to get a bit messy, with reports claiming the keeper is "willing to force his way out" of Newcastle to ensure the deal goes through. He has already agreed to a four-year contract with the Spanish side, but everything still depends on Sevilla avoiding relegation and Newcastle agreeing to drop their asking price.

I personally think we take what we can getm get his wages off and move him on.

It's not great but he's here soley because of PSR deals between us and Forest, whilst it can be argued he's not really had a chance, Eddie clearly doesn't trust him and I don't see him ever playing so I think we get what we can.

We could hold out for more money, but Seville and him, know we don't want him and know he wants to go - they will hold their line, play hardball. Another club may offer more but we can't make him take the deal and if he doesn't were left with a player on decent wages who is pissed off and doesn't want to be here.

Think we need to learn from last summer and shift potential poison in the squad early.

It was a situation where the club was bent over a barrel to avoid point deductions. We all know that the Cartel would have ensure that the Prem threw the book at NUFC and it'd have been 18points.

The transfer was awful business if the money mentioned, 20m quid, is real, however, this is the growing pains of a club going through the gears and up the league.

Business was done on tidal sands of folks like Ashworth, Amanda, Eales coming and going.

He should be brought back and promised the number 1 jersey he is the best keeper we have but i can fully understand him not wanting to return after the way he has been treated by Howe since joining us, good luck to him if he can stay in Spain.

No doubt there are many clubs across Europe paying attention to the lads form and if Saville don't want to be sensible no doubt another will. Villareal, Leverkusen, AEK Athens, Sassuolo. No idea if any of these clubs are looking for a keeper but there is plenty of teams who will put 8-12m on the table for a 31 yr old keeper hitting his peak GKing years.

Situation is that it costs us 7 mln (in PSR terms) to sell Vlad to them.

The club are in the box seat over Vlad's future.
