To put it simply Celtic think VAR is biased against them and in favour of Rangers (up to a point in favour of all the other clubs they play against but basically that is swamped by their tunnel vision against Rangers). Rangers are similar but exactly the other way round. ALL of the rest of Scottish football is together in that they think VAR is biased in favour of both of the ugly sisters ( as well as biased in most if not all other areas, reporting, finance, non VAR related decisions etc. etc.). Whilst I do believe there is a noticeable bias is favour of Celtic and Rangers in all these areas it probably isn't as bad as it seems given my prejudice against them and this is probably the same with most non old firm supporters. Celtic and Rangers supporters are so entitled, biased and downright obsessed that they will never look at it that way. How any Celtic fan can possibly think that the odds, decisions etc. are fraudulently stacked against them is bizarre beyond belief ( same for the Rangers).
Excellent post Dodbroon! I think their trouble is that everyone knows they should always win everything in Scotland, because of their overwhelming wealth. Sometimes their players just don't perform, it happens, and that's when they lose the plot. I don't think I can recall a situation where an OF manager has said well played about a Scottish team that beat them.Always their story is, ref was biased, or poor performance from us.
It's got worse and worse and worse.
I have no faith that they can implement anything right so I'd rather it was gone.
Just about every manager in league bar our own has used VAR to bleat aboot defeats as well......they may as well go back to old system and bleat about referees.
The old system has gone. Now that VAR has been used to make decisions based on a mm do you think that will stop the media if it goes?
People moaned about refs before VAR came in so that's never went away.
Had it not been for VAR we would've lost against Celtic at Dens.
Had it not been for VAR we would've lost against Rangers at Ibrox.
It's here to stay, you don't have to like it but you need to learn to live with it.
Changes needed on the implementation, time taken to make decisions and crucially communicating the decisions.
I've a feeling Saint Martin will have changed hit tune about VAR tonight.
