Genuine question...when was the last time you watched United and felt entertained?

We have no divine right to be above 7th after a decade of instability and 5 seasons down, Goodwin has plenty credit in the bank whether you or any other short sighted and short memory panic merchant like him or not, like it or lump it, keep b1tching like a bunch of spoiled kids or accept that this season isn't going as well as hoped but that 4th and currently 7th if offered this when we win promotion we all would have bitten the arm off

Is he a great manager, no but he's not bad either and it's a steady pair of hands which is what this club badly need and that doesn't change game to game, that's what we need as a club, recruitment over his time has wins and duds, more good than bad, you can see what he was trying this season and a few things haven't gone for us and him but the season isn't done but anyone expecting us to come up and turn into a permanent top six fixture after a the past decade is delusional and has no clue about football or Scottish football

Motherwell have hit the jackpot with their guy but he's it's a 1 in 50 shot, that isn't the norm and it won't happen for them again anytime soon and it won't happen for us if we go try the same, so they should enjoy him as manager while they can, they had 2-3 duds before him and will have others after
First of all I can’t listen, I will read the dribble you have typed sitting in front of your laptop in your piss stained y-fronts. I would love to see the world through your rose tinted glasses. Goodwin done the job that was required, but this club should not be happy with mediocre, nor only winning 6 games all season and only 3 victories at home, That is not acceptable. He assembled a squad that was suppose to be exciting, fast, direct and physical from what I have seen any many other United fans is the complete f@£king opposite. The squad look completely lost, no identity, players looks shot of confidence and frankly don’t look like they want to be here. Absolutely it’s time for change everything has a sell by date. Thank you Goodwin for completing your objective that was set out, now it’s time to move this club forward.

[QUOTE=JamesMcClean;40806174]It’s hard to pu a particular finger on where it’s gone wrong this season but I do think the turning point was those back to back home games in early Oct (I think it was anyway) against Killie and Livingston. We’d started the season decently enough but to come out of those two matches with only one point against what we now know are statistically the two worst teams in the league sowed a seed that frankly I don’t think we’ve recovered from. It’s hard to put a finger on it precisely. Is it recruiting? Is it coaching? Is it tactics? Is it training? Is it all of the above? Bottom line is that there is one common denominator in the lot and I’m sorry to say that it’s the manager.
The rolling contract deal we signed up with him could work in our favour in so much that I think a parting of the ways would be best all round come the end of the season. Obviously we have to hope that he can get enough of a tune out of them to at least keep us out of 11th which despite everything should really be straightforwardly achievable despite everything.

I agree with those sentiments entirely, it is hard to put a finger on a specific point, especially when the team were very promising at the start. But for me the one thread linking is management selections and tactical nouce! You can’t expect to win or change games dogmatically sticking to the same formula. Sh*t in = Sh*t out!

I believe we have mostly a good squad, they are just not being played in their natural positions i.e. this inverted winger nonsense and relying on players who are defenders (fullbacks/wing backs) to provide most of your attacking delivery and defend as well. Get the wingers on the wings and on their natural foot. Change to a back 4 or 5 on occasion or when needed. If you want a player trading model then show them in their best light.

Yesterday’s selection showed a defeated mentality before a ball was kicked.

Finally you can’t call people clowns for having an opinion, yes probably tinged with emotion and frustration. But the facts are the results are not good. And whilst I laud your data and history knowledge of the club; most of us have supported United for probably as long as you if not longer and even through Wee Jim’s lean years but we are still here as frustrating as it is, so give us some credit please!

Early on in the season until JG shat it and went defensive (after a number of unrelated to being expansive blunders at set pieces) and obsessed about how the opposition set up. The players became too caged and you can see the enthusiasm that initially built in the new squad just being drained by the negative tactics. Dolcek was neutralised as an effective forward as the cautious system just didn't cater for him and Sapsford is half the player he was early on in season.

That?s was utter garbage yesterday. Team selection was negative and defensive. No threat whatsoever.

JG is clearly hoping that we achieve enough points only to survive despite what he says in post match interviews. We are never set up to attack or put the opposition under pressure. We are hoping that one of the lofted punts forward lands at the feet of watters or saps and they beat 3 of their defenders just inside their half and score.

After yesterday i have decided that I am not going to any more away fixtures this season. If JG isn?t prepared to put a team on the park that that puts the effort in to win games then why shld I put the effort and money into going to watch.

Finally JG I?ve had enough of your post match
Interviews where you continually spout off about how you have had to make changes but the team you put out should be capable of competing. The truth is they are not and some of those players are incapable to do so. So stop trying to justify the some of the drivel that you have brought to our club.

Yes! Nail on the head - the first goal was crucial today. And we made absolutely no attempt to get the first goal, opting instead to try and thwart Motherwell. And we failed. And when we failed, there was no plan B to get back in the game. And yet you continue to defend this shambles?

I heard on the BBC open all mics yesterday that Kilmarnock have only won a single away game all season - I wonder who that was against... oh yeah, that's right...

The tactics were simple,go man to man marking all over the pitch and bring the best footballing side in Scotland down to our level.Add to that ruin the game and make sure everyone goes home saying i was not entertained today.

There was absolutely no need to rest Fatah yesterday as he can't play against Falkirk anyway. An absolute wet fart of a manager that sent out the likes of Eskesen just to be sacrificed. God help us against Falkirk tbh because we will have no attacking threat whatsoever, utterly fed up with the whole shebang now.

Oh I get that. What I don't get is Shedka defending that and others just accepting that we were never going to get anything from the game so it's fine to rest some players to make sure they're fit and fresh for another game that we might actually have a chance in.

Surely a black day indeed when we can't go to Motherwell and think about maybe taking something from the game? I have often felt like that when we go to Ibrox or Parkhead in the last two or three decades, but Motherwell?

    MOTHERWELL??!!
