I used to think Edwards was going to be the real deal. He had everything you wanted from a winger. He has just drifted as a footballer unfortunately. Harper was also really talented but playing league 2 now. If you would have told me both would have been lower league players, at the time I would have been shocked.

I suppose you imagine every player will naturally get better because they are young but it doesnt always work out like that.

Villa have poached a couple of lads by offering them really high wages for their age. Finn Azaz and Irongebum come to mind. Both are good players but left for money not footballing reasons and they have done ok.

Loans are fantastic development. The chance to play regularly against adults at a slightly lower level and grow. Fellows was a shadow of the player we have now before that loan to league 2. I thought Whitwell would have had more games since returning but it hasnt worked out yet. A loan to league 1 next season is on the cards I reckon.

There must be talks with Dike and Maja and they are going no point in starting them .
I'm Maja always leaves on a free at the end of previous contracts , then he get's a signing on fee .
I would have binned them before Easter , but under Morrison they did well for us in the end .
Grant , Wallace, Maja and Dike have had a lot of injuries . If we did keep any of them ,for more it would be a contrct depending on games played .
Not sure Lloyd whether it?s legal to have a contract on the number of games and no badge kissing player would agree to it anyway, It?s irrelevant whether a player is a good lad etc but the question is - are they worth their salary for their quality on the pitch and number of games played!

We need to clear the decks in my view otherwise we can?t move forward.
