This is the basis on there being no legal arguments if the EFL were to invite Barrow (or any other club) to be in the EFL next season to replace Bury. from the EFL articles;-

5.3 Subject to the provisions of the Articles of Association and these Regulations, The League may from time to time and upon such terms and conditions as it may think fit admit any Association Football club as a member or expel or accept the retirement of any member from The League provided always that no member may be expelled without the sanction of a special resolution passed at an Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting of The League. Any casual vacancy occurring in the membership of The League may be filled by the Board.

The constitution of the EFL allows for no more than 72 clubs and for no more than 24 clubs in each league.

It’s clear that Barrow’s wheel was falling off.
    (Someone had to say it!)

Yeah it's a tough league no doubt to get out of, I just think if we'd have had a real pre season we'd have been in Barrows spot when the virus hit because I do genuinely think we have the squad to win the league by a clear margin, they started to click last few months and surely that can only improve with more playing time together.

    Fingers crossed anyway mate COYP.

Reading between the lines of the NL press releases/interviews and taking into account the Fylde fiasco, I get the impression that we are not liked, I can see the NL and its' officials making it extra difficult for us if we remain a hostage to this league.

Maybe it’s the cabin fever, but it looks like a bit of paranoia is setting in.

The handling of the Fylde re-scheduling was appalling, as has been the way they've dealt with this crisis. I've no confidence in the NL whatsoever to do the right thing. I think we've rubbed them up the wrong way because our owners have shown themselves to be far more professional and astute than they are.

utm is right, having us in their tinpot league gives credence to the NL. My belief is they'll do their best to keep us in it.

BT viewing figures for live games will go down if we left, can't imagibe too many tuning in to watch Stevenage. They lost Luton recently after a lengthy spell, they won't want to lose Notts as well.

Whilst there are now mostly professional clubs at this level, it still has the aura of an amateur organisation, probably best represented by the standard of refereeing.

That is mental its like saying the EPL will do what they can to keep Villa/Leeds in the league and get rid of Bournemouth/Norwich.

Yes we are the biggest club in the NL but teams like Burton/Rotherham/Rochdale/Accrington/Stags over the last 5-7 years have outperformed us.

We are where we deserve to be, anything else is just stupid talk.

My opinion is we wont play another game in the 2019/20 season so get used to being in the tinpot league for another year.

It's about money, Burton etc. is irrelevant. Notts' attendances are at least more than twice the amount of 16 other clubs at this level, there is no comparison with the Championship (it has its problems but a lack of support isn't one of them). Post Covid, there's now talk of there being too many professional clubs, that we need to downsize etc. The NL is under threat, losing Notts will weaken their voice. Look what happened that weekend when we carried on after all other leagues had stopped playing, all of the media focus was on Notts.

The NL would very much like us to get used to being in their tinpot league, to not question their decision making and to shut up and be good little boys.
