Whilst I wouldn't exactly give Farage a free pass on Brexit he was after all only a campaigner to leave the EU .

He didn't negotiate the deal , he wasn't a remainer at heart like Johnson was and in fact he only really returned to UK politics because of the dogs dinner the Tories made of leaving the EU .

Whether he could have done any better is of course open to debate .

The Farage image isn't the millionaire former merchant banker that he once was , the image is an ordinary bloke whose done well for himself who likes a pint and a fag and has views that millions of Brits agree with .

Farage drove Brexit. He sold it as being the solution to all our ills. He exploited the unhappiness of people following the 2008 crash and told them it was all down to the EU. He's clearly a skilful operator who can see which buttons to press, but so was Hitler when told the Germans that the state of Germany after the 1929 crash was down to the Jews.

The likes of Johnson just jumped on the bandwagon in pursuit of power.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think Farage could have polished the Brexit turd to any greater degree than Johnson?

The image certainly is of an ordinary bloke who likes a pint and a fag (when he's not hanging out with Trump). It's a very carefully cultivated image. I hate to think what he's spending on image consultants to deliver it. Maybe he even likes beer now with all the photo shoots he's done.

The image slips when he does things like letting on that he admires Putin as a political operator. In other words, he admires a man who imprisons, poisons and irridiates political opponents. Nice guy.

I actually stayed at that hotel on quite a few occasions after it started being used for asylum seekers and despite reports to the contrary on here, not ALL of them were freeloading barstewards hell bent on robbing the Aldi across the street. In that same vein, not ALL of them seemed to want to be upstanding members of society.

Municipal elections? City council? Where did you copy and paste that from, howdy? Is it a reliable source?

Has Rotherham ever elected it's mayor or has he or she always been appointed by councillors (I genuinely don't know as I haven't lived in the town for several years)? If its the latter, what is the point you are making?

What he hasn?t told me is how they get nice trainers, jeans , basically suited and booted with a mobile phone. They are not getting all that for 8.66. They don?t need a lot of money if they are getting everything for free. Sorry it?s not free we are paying for it .

I can also add from my own personal anecdotal evidence that I have seen a lot of asylum seekers down the market and taking advantage of fake designer trainers and tops - tops were ?3.50, trainers were a fiver. with 8.66 a week what are they doing buying one trainer a week , even down the market you don?t get much for 8.66. I?m around manvers a lot with my son and grandson living there . I?ve seen plenty of the illegal sorry I know you don?t like that word, irregular folk in and round that hotel. I don?t think I?ve said they are getting more money I?ve agreed with the oricle bout that . According to Reform MP Lee Anderson people on disability benefits are on ?30,000 pa. He spoke these words on Politics Live this week.

I witnessed this amazing revelation (of his stupidity). Unlike the majority of xenophobes who regularly post on here who rely on people like 30p Lee for their opinions.
