because it doesn't look like it and those responsible should be prosecuted for at least manslaughter

Might be political, there's quite a few Labour councillors on that council and the building was erected when Harold Wilson was Prime Minister.

See how easy it is to use a tragedy to push a political agenda?

And if they are culpable then they need dealing with, i'm not playing party politics here, unlike yourself, im saying that for years we have accepted the closure of fire stations, the austerity that no doubt stopped sprinkler systems being fitted, the ignoring of reccomended actions....

We really need someone from high up in the political world to be banged up because of this to stop politicians literally getting away with murder and hiding behind others. For me, you could start with Blair, May and Cameron.

Yep, of course, i agree, we probably have the same politics, but what you're missing in your quest on here is that there's been plenty of opinions, mostly decent, and you've chased after Yak, just wind yer neck in a bit, Yak's probably the least political bloke on here and obviously doesn't want to engage in political stuff....Grist, however, is fair game, what i'm trying to say is, pick your opponent fella.

No, not recently, just going on the local's opinions, and the report into the recladding, which actually stated that the cladding would make it more aestheticly pleasing from certain areas surrounding the tower...

You can't argue with that. Disgraceful. There are things that can be cut, the police, the fire brigade, the NHS, should be three of the last things on that list. I'd be willing to pay more taxes as long as it was guaranteed those taxes were going to the emergency services.

They saved £5000 !

The flame retardent insulation was £2 per square metre more expensive so they went for the cheaper stuff....

Germany bans this stuff above the height the normal fire brigade units can reach - a total ban.

Tories vetoed Labour ammendments to commit landlords to make rented accommodation fit for purpose and safe.

Absolutely disgraceful. This wouldn't have happened in a block of 'rich' flats. It should now be made law that sprinklers are added to any block of flats. I also read in the last couple of days, about some MPs (mainly Tories, obviously) voting against sprinkler systems being compulsory in newly built schools. I mean, that defies belief.
