WanChai, I take comfort that you and I have some similar views on this and that's an excellent rational appraisal.

Yesterday, McCluskey told the Huffington Post that Labour’s defeat was partly down to a 'failure to apologise for anti-Semitism in the party when pressed to do so, capping years of mishandling of this question'.

Two years ago, he was arguing that there was no such problem:

One assumes that this means that either McCluskey has problems with his memory or that he is getting ready to throw Corbyn under a bus for failing to deliver the revolution.

Kerr, good morning. Some of those most sanguine about Labour reinventing itself and moving serenely back to the centre fail imo to understand the political animal. In April 1945 with the Russians in Berlin and Hitler in the bunker several in the Nazi hierarchy were engaging in a despearte struggle to secure their position as his successor. Labour will probably be consumed by a long internal struggle and McCluskey and Momentum will be more concerned with possessing the corpse rather than reviving it. Wait and see.

I still think our electoral system is unfair though, the Brexit Party and Green Party should have seats and even though I don't like the Lib Dems, they got 11.6% of the vote and 11 seats whereas the SNP got 3.9% of the vote and 48 seats, which is ridiculous.
We've had a referendum on that and first past the post won .

Be careful how you reply to that Fire or you'll end up sounding like Jo Swinson .

We didn't have the choice of true PR, only the complicated Alternative Vote system, no wonder people rejected that.

I think every vote should count.

There we have it. Dress it up how you want.

Constant preaching on how taxes should be increased and redistributed.

Another expert on spending ‘other people’s money’

You get a bit back you don’t like it.

The very essence of the NHS is that when someone falls ill & needs NHS help that person by proxy is spending someone elses money
We all contribute in order to help those who need it even if we don't need the help of the NHS we contribute
I for one am happy to do so & would be willing to pay more in taxes to continue the principle
I got to 72 before I had the need of NHS help. Never used A&E or even needed any kind of hospital treatment
All my working life I contributed without ever taking much out of the system but I was & am happy to continue to "allow " someone to benefit from spending my money

Anyone see last night on news the amount of protesters down London protesting against democracy, if you didn’t links below

Let’s be fair it is the Tory’s fault for them protesting, I mean if the didn’t cut school funds they would be properly educated

Neither of them had any objection to paying higher taxes, so it shouldn’t be a problem 🤔

Don’t hold your breath. We’ll just wait for the excuses or the, ‘who are you to dictate how I spend my money’ .... the irony.

At least Wanchai realises the Brexit party actually assisted Labour in the Northern Heartlands.

It could have been a lot worse. If McCluskey get’s his way, still time for that.

Still funniest thing in this election was

    Jo Swinson

Oblivious. Irrelevant and complete waste of space.
I'll put up the £50 happily, and without you having to contribute anything if you volunteer for one night to work for the Sheffield soup kitchen. I can fix it up for you to meet my niece who regularly work there.

Not all about flashing the wad around. You just sound like an unpleasant **** tbh.

    Deal?

Jeez, raging, you've got Jewish relatives supporting anti-semite Corbyn, you've got Brexit pals in Rotherham, Muslim co-workers who all like gays and support womens rights and now your niece works in a soup kitchen. I give up. You're the man. You are clearly almost as great a guy as Roly.
