Would all be somewhere in the staring 11, if not on the bench.

Ok, so maybe it's 6...but I'd rather see any of those names than Cundy, Hinchy, Cisse, Reynolds, Martin etc...

    Therefore....'key' players.
You can add Austin to the list missing from last night.

What’s frustrating with all of the injuries is that we’re having to start players when we’d ideally be resting them - there’s no way Didzy would play 180 minutes Sat-Tue if we had a full-strength squad available. Same with Matty Palmer.

Despite all the naysayers, these are great points we’re picking up while muddling through. Obviously, I’m hoping for a more convincing, winning performance on Saturday, but there’s no way we would be picking up these points while under the cosh with last season’s goalkeeper and defence.

It would be nice to not keep conceding from corners, though.

It's very difficult to judge any progress we've made till we get a full squad back and some of the other 'players up to speed', but we are getting some half decent results at times with a depleted squad, so I'll take that for now. COYPiesssssssssss...

Got out of jail. Too many players not at the races last night. Goldie, Crowley especially. We lose momentum when attacking at pace. We get around the box & instead of whipping the ball in, check back, let's make another pass. The defence play is still sloppy at times & we bring unwanted pressure on ourselves at times trying to be the citeh of div 2.

It does worry me that our plan seems to be "play pretty football, and if pressed too much to play pretty football, keep trying and failing to play pretty football until the opposition is too exhausted to keep up the press".

Maybe the league this year just isn't good enough for the latter not to work - unlike how exposed we were by the three automatically promoted last year.

Our second half record this season is ridiculous, suggesting that might be the case.

More importantly they aren’t hamstrung in any way shape or form with squad budget like many. It is accepted by PV fans themselves that they have the leagues top budget. I also like Darren Moore and think he performed well in higher leagues.

He's got a proper CV. Bags of experience as a player and manager at all levels, including relegation and promotion scraps. Oversaw a play off final win as well.

Surely Notts fans can’t bemoan the product served up over recent seasons. Has it not been overall very entertaining? The product is definitely inferior this season as we look worryingly poor in one half of football almost every game this season and we aren’t as easy on the eye. However the fans were fed up with conceding so many goals, gifting goals with comedy defending and wanted more balance. We now have that the defensive unit is unrecognisable to last season.

Of course not and I'm not moaning in that regard but you have to adapt your game and we just aren't doing that in the face of tactics which are now used against us, effectively, on a weekly basis.

The 'poor' half to which you refer, is because we're allowed to be more expansive in the second half as teams sit back and defend what is often a lead, it's not our tactics that effect change, it's theirs. As already stated, our style looks fragile under the high press with players regularly, looking like they might lose the ball or worse.
