I'm sure Jackett will be able to do alot more work with the lads during the next full week.
Don't forget he was only appointed YESTERDAY FFS.

Don't know what KJ can do. Blackstock is not a championship player any longer. Izzy Brown was a liability when he came on.

Wood & Halford stood out. Frecks, Newell weren't at there best.

As he got any contacts to bring out of contract players in. But they've got to be fit, not has-beens.

Forget about Smallwood, he's not the answer.

Well I thought we looked a lot better organised, yes Reading had a lot of the ball but it was mainly side to side stuff.

Their keeper had a blinder and not the first time he's done it here.

Blackstock brings nothing to the party.

Izzy Brown was a disgrace, playing the petulant teenager with bottom lip stuck out, maybe a case of "not picked so **** you" Was like playing with 10 men after he came on.

Penalty was harsh so Camps save was justice.

Ref seemed to guess every decision, he was poor.

    Disappointing but glimmers of improvement.

So I was just about to post 12 games in the Championship, 12 wins and 12 losing teams all failing to score. Wonder if that's ever happened? Then Forest go and score a 91st minute penalty and ruin it

Seems like NW has that promotion in his sights.

We were certainly much better organised but we are so short of quality that I wonder whether Jackett will be able to do any more than keep us to respectable defeats. Thought the centre backs today were outstanding despite a less than recent performance from Fisher and the usual poor effort from Mattock (get Belaid in there now he's fit). The main problem we have is midfield. Frecks, great servant he has been,is now finding this level difficult. Newell who certainly has talent is now more timid than previously. Halford did ok today but is unreliable and not the answer. Taylor, despite constant buzzing about, is well below championship standard. Up front thank goodness for Danny Ward but he desperately needs better support than Blackstock who seems here for his last pay day

O'h yes... look at those stats....
So at least you admit that you have been a MUPPET over the last couple of months (we lost a few, didn't you know?)

Can't believe what I've heard some say about Halford, he had a good game. Think people are being harsh on Blackstock too as he's not had a proper chance yet, thought he looked alright myself.

Nice to see organisation finally and after one day too. Plenty to be positive about I feel.

We are royally f*cked. Down and dusted. But I feel quite relaxed about it. After all, what's the use of worrying, it never was worth while. We should all just pack up our troubles in the old kit bag and smile, smile, smile.

Kenny Jackett, or somebody of that ilk, was desperately needed in the summer (of 2015 if truth be told) but we took an unnecessary gamble with our Championship future that failed disastrously. I regret the fact we've progressed not one iota since Wembley, that other clubs of similar or lesser stature have overtaken us but we are what we are at this moment in time, a third-tier football club way out of our depth in the Championship.

Jackett is a sticking plaster on a gaping wound, a belated and superficial acknowledgement of past failings, a recognition of the choas and destruction wrought upon us by the previous manager who ripped our team apart, brought in a bus-load of dubious signings (there's a familiar theme) and instilled a losing mentality alongside tactical ineptitude.

My hope from hereon is that Jackett reinstills the effort and determination, that he reignites the flames of pride and passion, all but extinguished in Stubbs' pathetic tenure. If he does then I can accept the accompanying losses. Defeat needn't necessarily be depressing but the manner of defeat often is. I'm not expecting miracles, I'm resigned to relegation on the basis that a minimum ten more games with the same personnel is likely to leave us too far adrift by what will be mid-season. Warnock worked wonders but not with young, inexperienced players, ill-equipped for relegation dog-fights.

Six points from the first seven games seemed a poor return but they were a rich harvest compared with the next seven. But even if Jackett repeats that dubious feat we must stay with him. The club needs stability, it needs his knowledge and experience. If that has to be employed in League 1 so be it.
