You are proof that's not always the case.

Wilde wasn't educated at Magdalen was he? If so then that's a very long time ago. it is a college that now has a reputation for producing Tories.

HIGNFY was probably a significant factor in popularizing Farage, Rees-Mogg and certainly Boris Johnson, but that programme - as with comedy in general - has gone seriously downhill over the last decade. I wouldn't be expecting much from a return of Spitting Image.
A person's taste or appreciation of humour changes over time - perhaps you are a decade older? If you have a pre-determined idea of a programme you think is unlikely to be humorous or expecting it not to be before you even see it, you're not likely to laugh.

Yes he was, but so was Lord Alfred Douglas, that perhaps explains the later " connection" .

Also Lawrence of Arabia, but I'm not sure where that one leads, as a Camel puppet might be too large for the studio.

Assuming it doesn't end up on a pay channel, I'll give it a go and might be pleasantly surprised, but I've pretty much fallen out of love with television altogether. MOTD and the odd edition of "Question Time" is just about all I can be bothered with these days.
