Feels we are on a reight hiding to nothing tonight .
With the current problems at Rotherham this has got the feel of drawn away to non league opposition in the FA cup .
The truth is that it isn't what so ever .
It's a local derby away from home in the championship against a team who are fighting for their lives at the wrong end of the league .
The situation at the NYS could galvanise the Millers and in Paul Warne they have a manager who gets the very best out of his group of players .
A real test of our capabilities awaits and any strolling about with the wrong attitude will see us beaten .
We cant feel sorry for them though, and we've got to be professional and want to win this game.
Not conceding first again in the opening 15 minutes is important to begin with.
Add the fact that this is another local derby and they need the points more than we do, it could well be one of our hardest games so far under Val.
The Rotherham game being on is out of our hands and nothing to do with principles. We have to follow the rules as much as Rotherham do. Principles has nothing to do with it. Saying Barnsley should show some principles and ask for the game to be called off is wrong. Other teams are in the same boat and having to play do you think they'll be saying Barnsley should show some principles and get the game postponed or will they be saying Barnsley should stick to their principles, obey the rules and play the game, like we have to?
People enjoying watching the game if it goes ahead has nothing to do with principles either. Saying enjoy the game lads and hinting that principles are dead if you do, is ludicrous.
I agree that there's no excuse for breaking Covid rules but to say that you can't forgive someone for making that mistake and giving them a second chance seems a bit harsh. If that's the case and it's against your principles then how far do you go? Do you not go to a match, once we can, until he's no longer the manager? Even then do you still not go till the owners, who gave him a second chance and employed him, leave too?
You're months behind Fants.
I stated in November 2019 I would not attend Oakwell until these owners leave. The method of sacking Daniel Stendel was the last straw for me. I have stuck to that principle established well before Covid 19 appeared. The employment of a Covid rule breaker, the refusal to pay what is owed on buying the club, the threat to play games away from Oakwell all reinforce my beliefs.
My principles don't change on the basis of a recent successful spell on the pitch. Principles are not just for Christmas. The principles hashtag referred to employing Ismael. I am fully aware the EFL have sadly instructed the game to go ahead. Read my Post 13 again--in it I am seeking Conway to press the EFL to postpone the game, tongue in cheek knowing full well the man has no such principles.
