By owner investment, does that include loans or just capital investment? Two different things

It seems to me that if you’ve had a fantastic cup run, you’ve earned the right to spend the money how you want.

As for the main rule, would things like the padel courts and Nest qualify?

Does that mean that if we received 500k pounds for Jodi, that we can only spend 250k pounds on a replacement?

I doubt that it true as owners will go to court over it as it is not normal business practice in what other business could you enforce that rule ?

Plus clubs will find a loop hole to get round it could say it?s ?1m with add ons that will never be reached there is always a way round rules if you have money

Without looking fully into the matter I would think it is right (200k sell, 100k usable) because the clubs would have voted for it to be passed.

Long term this will benefit us because our owners are smarter than average, and investments like the nest are absolutely the way forward.

Invest to create income, not "invest" to buy your way out of the league.

As to "how will L1/2 clubs get into the championship" it's a level playing field, exactly the same number of L1 and L2 clubs are going to be promoted each season. All it will change is (hopefully) fewer clubs will go bust throwing money at promotion gambles, and owners coming in and buying their way out of a league at ludicrous expense and inflating everyone else's player wages in the process will be a thing of the past.

Assuming the rules don't have vast loopholes or something, anyway

But what is the point in generating income you can't spend? If a club has 'smart' owners who create other income streams, shouldn't that' in a real, business sense, be allowed as a fair advantage?

The Premier league is possibly an exception now with gate money being less pivotal to a clubs financial viability. What is unfair, are the 'parachute' payments to relegated clubs which start with a massive advantage over existing, Championship teams.
