I?m hoping Bland can kick on and improve on his impressive start as he could be a good option in midfield and to fill in at full back, if needed.

O?Keeffe and Cotter can go for me as neither are good enough defensively to be a full back or have enough end product to be a winger. Maybe, and it?s a big maybe, Cotter could be an occasional impact sub because of his raw pace. I expect him to leave though.

I suppose w are more likely to see Farrugia in his natural position of left wing. That?s if he ever gets off the treatment table.

MDG can go as he loses concentration too much and makes too many mistakes. Not sure anyone will buy him from us though. Maybe a second division French side perhaps?

Watters is a weird one because we need central strikers as it is but he missed so many chances last season. Particularly towards the end of the season. He is rapid at running in behind though so maybe that might keep him here.

Nwakali certainly divides opinion in our fan base. I think I?m somewhere in the middle. On the ball, sometimes he can look premier league quality and he?s certainly one of our more gifted players. However, he?s nowhere near good enough off the ball. Tackling, marking, tracking back. He does none of these. If Hourihane wants to play high intensity football next season, I?m not sure Nwakali fits into that.

Going to be a busy summer for us and I really hope, for a change, we can get bodies in and out early. There?s some decent out of contract players available so let?s hope we can move quickly with these.
Totally agree with all of that Nerf. A very balanced and considered view.

Let's hope Conor has won his battles early and the bean counters at the club are back behind the scenes and concentrating on actually making us financially viable and creating Conor some revenue .

Leave the playing side to those qualified to do it , Conor will then be judged fairly .

4-4-2 , two wingers , crosses in to the box and you never know we might actually be decent again .

    Taken from BBS Facebook

The concern is that the club is turning the clock back to that era.
New Manager / Head Coach resulting in a brand new team.
Everything including the baby thrown out with the bath water every time there is a new HC.
The club has painful history of doing that.
Those with a decent memory can remember those dark days - months and seasons.
When nothing on the field was being built from one season to the next.

Unless we hear something different - then this is indeed what the club is proposing.
James experienced this at first hand and if I was him I?d be fighting tooth and nail to prevent it from ever happening again.

The recent strategy of the club was a solid one - which is basically a playing style and formation - and a recruitment system that identifies HCs and young hungry players that can slot straight into that system.

Clearly this strategy has come off the rails over this last two seasons as a result of the appointment of HCs that the club came to realise were totally incompatible.

But that strategy has been proved to be a success in the past and has brought in ???millions of income through developing players and selling them on.

Of course the strategy can evolve - but it shouldn?t be ditched.

Apart from administration, the club is at it's lowest both on and off the pitch in 50 years. That is a fact.

No, you said it was taken from BBS Facebook thus implying you had read it on there and was passing it on to us, where as the truth is that you were the author , we have heard it all before from you , nothing new apart from the fact that the system you refer to has failed and it is quite clear that things under Conor are starting to change , the old system has gone Nudger , accept it and stop clinging to the failed analytical recruitment of the past , it is deceased it is no more , we move on, hallelujah .

Yes I said it was taken from BBS Facebook- meaning I?d posted it on BBS Facebook.
Obviously I need to spell things out more clearly in the future.

Yes you have heard me say all this before.
And yes I?ve also heard what you and your compatriots have had to say on the subject a thousand times before.

As I?ve eluded to in the Facebook post - it?s those with a good memory that will be concerned that we are going back to an era dominated by the Keith Hills of the footballing world.
But only those with a good memory will see the warning signs.

I, along with every other supporter will be hoping that Conor Hourihane is a great success.
But whatever he is - whether successful or a failure - he will be gone in a season or two.
After his departure - a new HC will be appointed - and it dosent matter one bit what Conor has built on the field - because those players will be going - as the new HC will be bringing in a new group of players.

Barnsley has been in the doldrums for 2 seasons now due to poor decisions made at board level in recruiting HCs that fit the club.
If we go back to the Flitcroft era - then expect at least a decade of that type of mayhem at the club.
Countless support drifting away during that time because they could see the club had no direction and wasn?t going anywhere.
And that?s why Patrick changed it.

Conor said he wants changes to the buildings themselves - could I suggest he installs revolving doors at the players entrance.

    I sincerely hope I?m wrong.
