That was the advice for Level 0 in January, before the success or failure of the vaccine programme could be built in. Now almost all the vulnerable groups have been vaccinated, I cannot see them continuing with levels beyond June/July, especially if the English government have opened up everything. Pointless going over to the dark side just yet, give it till June

Mainland Scotland and some islands are in lockdown, with guidance to stay at home except for essential purposes. Some islands remain at Level 3.

Our timetable for easing restrictions sets out how and when we plan to lift the current coronavirus restrictions over the coming weeks and months.
    Meeting others indoors (socialising)

You can meet people from outside your household indoors in your home or in someone else’s home or in a public place such as a bar, café or restaurant. The maximum number of people who can meet indoors is 8 which can be from up to 3 separate households.

Children under the age of 12 from these households do not count towards the total number of people permitted to gather indoors in a public place but do count towards the maximum of 2 households permitted to meet. For example a children’s party with 10 children from more than 2 separate households would not be allowable, but 6 adults and 4 children from 2 households could meet.

Children under 12 do not need to maintain physical distance from others indoors.

Where an individual household includes more than 8 people, they can nevertheless meet as a single household even if the total number of people exceeds 8.

You can go into another person’s house only for certain reasons, such as for essential work, to join your extended household or to provide care and support for a vulnerable person. This can include providing emotional support for someone whose wellbeing is at risk, including for those who are isolated because of disability or a caring situation or where they are a parent or carer of a child under one. Read Coronavirus (COVID-19): advice for unpaid carers.

When you meet people from another household indoors you should:

minimise the number of meetings you have with people from other households each day
stay at least 2 metres apart from anyone who is not part of your household, unless in a public venue that is operating 1 metre distancing with additional measures being in place to avoid transmission.
    maintain hand and cough hygiene
avoid touching hard surfaces with your hands
wash your hands when you arrive, when you leave, when you get home and especially before eating or after touching surfaces
not share food or utensils – if eating, each household should bring, prepare and eat its own food separately
if possible, keep rooms well ventilated – consider opening windows or a door

Those at a higher risk of severe illness from coronavirus (including those who had been shielding, people 70 and over, people who are pregnant and people with an underlying medical condition) should strictly follow the physical distancing guidance.

This is the actual advice for Level 0 in Scotland. I didn't believe it when I read it. It isn't a lockdown but in what world do our politicians and scientists exist if they think this is acceptable.

This is why we have a bunch of dumplings masquerading as politicians in Scotland.

    Hallelujah.

It's been a long road but I'm delighted two people (yourself and trodee) who can post so eloquently are climbing aboard.

And it ain't anti sturgeon, down south almost as bad but not quite.

They are tryinging to control people's lives in the medium to long term....if say it's happening but it's actually happened.

Watch Charles walker pint of milk video.....daft.....but hits the mark.

Kind of helps explain the massive over reaction from day one, give them nothing now and they'll think the 50% we give them back at the end will be wonderful. Let's stick a new term out there for them to mull over 'the new normal', the mugs will accept it and still blindly vote for us.

I've banged the social control drum since day one whilst some certain posters insisted they knew better, they clearly didn't but keep trying to press the trust and compliance agenda. Remember I said it was all about the vaccine, how it was about the politicians handing out big money to their mates in the medical companies to push through and sell their vaccines and how we'd all be forced to have it? Boris attributes the success of the vaccination programme to 'capitalism and greed'. Remember around six or seven months ago I said we'd all have to carry papers that say we've been vaccinated or we wouldn't be allowed out our houses (OK out our houses was a bit extreme)? Looks like we might need to show our 'papieren' on demand if we want a pint in our local - how long until 'Covid Police' are proposed? People who will have absolute authority to stop you in the street and demand to see your papers? It's Nazi Germany in the modern age.

So kudos to BCram, Troodee and of course me and RRoS who both called this out for being decent posters who can see through the propaganda and scientific / government nonsensical, bumbling and confused bull****. We just need the other decent posters to wake up and smell the coffee now and we can all relax.

Nicola Sturgeon is not trying to control your life, she's trying to stop people from dying, in the same way an overprotective parent will try to stop their kids from tumbling off the slides at the playpark. At some point, they both know they'll have to let go and let nature take its course. You're needing deprogrammed from this Hitchens brainwashing

I'm no clever enough myself but I read people who are (or I think they are), who value freedom, that's who I trust.

Only some want this way of life, even people who argue on here don't.....I'm convinced of it....or I wuda gave up by now.

It took trodees post to make Bcram go and have a look at level 0......I'm really glad he did.

People on here were planning Sumner holidays only a few weeks back.....I was reading the posts and thinking what the he'll are they seeing that I'm not.

I still fervently hope I'm miles out but each month that passes I fear I'm no.

The caution exercised in Scotland has been just as much about the May elections as controlling the virus. Come June, there will be hardly any 'with covid' deaths at all and those will be very dubious involving very elderly people, there will be no reason for any restrictions. These are just my opinions, I'm not saying any of this is fact, I'll leave that to 'others'. I'm happy to give them till June before declaring myself one of your crew, assuming I'm allowed to join

The biggest problem of the lot is going to be when everyone comes out of lockdown including those who have been shielding since 23rd March 2020. There is going to be an explosion of colds, flu and all the other air borne viruses as people have lost their immunity to being in large crowds.
Last Saturday my next door neighbour on Islay told me that when the schools returned last August nearly every pupil in her kids class at primary school caught the cold.
