Possession football

Even though we are possession based we have mixed it up and it hasn?t been a case of keeping the ball in at all costs as it was under LW where players struggle and we end up letting a howler in.
I don?t mind the style, like any football style if you do it badly it looks awful.
We need Leadership, Physicality and Pace in the side as these have been missing for years. It?s easy in the NL to play keep ball and teams on their knees after 60 mins but L2s clearly a different animal.

Regardless of what style of play the team adopts the common denominator would be midfield. You need players in midfield who are ball winners, who are physical, prepared to do the dirty work when needed and able to pick out and provide a forty/ fifty yard pass that opens up opposing defences. Those kind of talented players are hard to find.

They are hard to find. But if you have 2 who do the graft and have the physicality, you can afford a luxury player like Crowley. Our problem is apart from Robbo who has brittle bones, we have no physicality. I'll be mocked but Elliott Hewitt is a player who does the dirty stuff well and doesn't pretend to be a baller. Prepared to rest around breaking things up. Two signings with his qualities would suit me fine. Alas, we also need a replacement for Crowley.

Can't see him leaving them for us. We're of a pretty similar profile now, and they are likely to at least match what we'd pay. Dobra could play in L1.

As a wing back, I agree entirely on JJ. However, if we tweak to a 4-3-3, Jones and Jarvis would be perfect on opposite flanks.

My point is Jarvis is right footed but prefers the left side that is his position the days of wingers tearing to byline & crossing are gone, how many sides do that all game ?

Well id argue you have to defend in the PL you dont see any Le Tissiers now you have to pull your weight so to speak otherwise you not make it.

I agree wing back system needs to go but whose idea is it as all our coaches under RM as sporting director have played it ?

My hope is they have seen that L2 is way harder than the NL at the top end so we need to find the missing pieces, it?s obviously not that easy in the real world though !

Jarvis left and JJ Right of a front 3 would be perfect to me, their crying out to be played there, it?s just a waste of attacking talent having them constantly running back and energy.
I?ve always understood why some teams play 352 but finding really good wingbacks isn?t an easy thing to do, especially when you need 4.

I?m hopeful a new manager will mix possession with attacking and hard defending.
If I?m honest, I?d lose the possession but, but I?m guessing the bros set that template.
