Hopefully the structure of the deal is such that we are not paying full wages until back fully. If this was purely a business decision you would likely have helped from a medical perspective but waited to see if full fitness was achieved before offering a contract. Lots of players are not the same after major injury. I think all he had was pace, as said above, no end product, so if that pace is diminished by injury then it may prove a mistake, but it is an arrangement we can end after a year. I suspect it will be early 2026 before we see him back fully to make an assessment. Let us hope it is not a years wages for little. Saying all of that, the above is a commercial view. I personally wish him all the very best, hope he gets back to his best and uses the months of injury to work on the mental aspects of the game - he could be a fantastic addition to the squad in the second half of the season.
