I didn't realise that Zilzal was that famous (LOL)
I can only assume it was an episode that was broadcast after the "watershed"!

Just been into the Tourist Information shop in Rotherham, for reasons unconnected to the Millers. However I saw on the shelves a new "Pictorial history of Rotherham United" book. I had a quick skim through it and saw a 1959/60 team photo, with what was almost certainly our mystery man in the picture. Unfortunately there were no players names provided! However our mystery man was standing next to Roy Ironside, and looks an inch or two shorter than Roy....therefore it is NOT Peter Madden or Albert Bennett. I think that a young Peter Madden is on the back row of the photo, and it was taken before Albert Bennett signed for us anyway.
    More evidence for Brian Jackson.

Has the original photo been narrowed down to being from the 59/60 season then Mike?

An earlier posted photo on this thread with fans in a queue at the same-looking turnstiles was estimated at late 50s/early60s and came up when Rotherham United 1960 was "googled"... it must be roughly that date, although I originally thought the photo of the player possibly looked earlier.

The player in question is definitely Peter Madden. Game over.

Peter Madden was believed to be the tallest player in our division at the time - our mystery man is not particularly tall in the 1959/60 team photo in the book that I previously mentioned

Does anybody know when that extension(ticket office)was built, that could throw some light on the matter.
