The problem with waiting is it depends on who's under contract for next season. Say we get rid in the summer, the new manager would most likely want to build his own team, which could lead us to having 25-30 players again. I think we should get rid now, this season for me is a write off, we won't finish top nor will we go up through the play offs. Get rid give the new gaffer half a season, to decide who he wants keep, and go again next season under fresh ideas.

Hahahaha this is brilliant. The season is not even half way through and you would sooner write it off now rather than see where it takes us? What if you are wrong? What if Ardley brought in one player that took us to the next level? He did it last January with Roberts. Ironically that’s when Roberts is expected to be fit.
The vast majority of the squad is out of contract in the summer as is the manager, don’t be surprised if he leaves and he is replaced by Doyle!

Go take a look, should bring a smile to your face

It was huge comical leap of faith, and needed amending, thank you for doing so. Patience is in short supply in the world of NCM even less so on Facebook as you are only too aware of Ken.

I don't know what an average Notts fan is tbh impossible to define. What we both do know is that we have examples of fans on NCM who clearly don't realise. They also don't factor in or care about the cost of managerial changes. I guess it keeps things much simpler that way.

No. Fullarton was an insult of an appointment to the fans, never should have been appointed. I hear he has a fantastic PowerPoint skills though.

We have many more examples of managers not being given long enough than ones given far too long. Even the most stubborn of the #angrymob would agree with that.

Have a great NYE and no doubt speak later Kenneth xx
Could not resist Laddo, despite Fullarton in your words being an insult of an appointment, he still did better than Ardley, in similar circumstances when Trew had put the club up for sale

    More delusion Notts 78
Ardley did not take us to the next level last season, the truth he was not even close to it
See where the season takes us ?? That would be fair to say at the start of this season, but to many defeats to poor teams, shows we are scraping play offs at best - now promotion can still be gained this way , but it comes down to 2 or 3 key games, so we shall see

Why would i 'want to see where it takes us' i want a manager i believe in, not a manager that relegated us and failed to get us back up. Ardley's 3 biggest games as Notts manager, Swindon (L) Harrogate (L) Harrogate again (L) The man has a defeatist mentality, and cares far to much about the opposition rather than his own team. As others have said Ardley would be better suited at somewhere like Burton, where there's very little expectation.

Also the Home match to Macclesfield which Ardley lost - and was the one key match that relegated us

Davy the question wasn't about Ardley or how their performances in that league compared. The question was would I have given Fullarton time as manager.

Are you telling me that the Fullarton appointment wasn't an insult to the fans by a disgruntled Trew at that time? Never managed a first team, all his experience was at youth and reserve team levels. That's not what you want or need in a dogfight. Very strange appointment

If you want to compare to NA like you so often do, at least Ardley had lots of lower league 1st team managerial experience when appointed, with a promotion thrown in to boot. Fullarton had neither.

True i would not have appointed Fullarton, but neither would i have appointed Ardley, at the time i was quite disappointed considering Ardley was on a losing streak at Wimbledon.
I do not think either appointment filled fans with excitement to be honest

But we could of gave Fullarton 2 or 3 years to see if he became a good manager , because that is what has happened with Ardley

No fan , in fact nobody bar Trew would have appointed him when he did, hence why I call the appointment bizarre and an insult to the fans. I stand by that.

You are allowed to say it was a shocking appointment. Utterly strange appointment. A defeated man's appointment. Or at the very least a very risky one?

I didn't want Ardley either and he was on a losing streak , I didn't see many of any suggesting him on here so Hardy can take full responsibility for that one. But you can't compare the two appointments. At least Ardley had lots of managerial experience in L2 and L1, he also had success even getting Wimbledon promoted.

What had Fullarton been successful at other than putting out the cones and mastering Microsoft PowerPoint? Will he ever get a side promoted from L2 to L1 during his managerial career? Doubt it he's a development officer.

It's great to see on the final day of 2020 Davy, you are consistent as ever. Let's see what 2021 brings
