    Our Premiership Players

    Have we got any?

Have any of the players signed recently any chance of success in the Premiership?

Would anyone at the club have a chance of reaching the Premiership?

    What do you reckon?

I was initially going to respond with a quip about starting early on the vin rouge but...

The answer to question 1 is self-evidently "No".

However, questions 2 and 3, if taken to mean potential rather than immediate, then there are possibles. Fry, Izzy and Ball.

If your question was have we got any players that have played in the Premiership then.....

Stephen Kelly for Spurs and Stoke.
Halford has played in the Premiership I believe for Sunderland.

JLM, although Frog is notoriously lazy I assumed he could check that out for himself. I thus assumed he meant Premiership quality players. But you may be right after all.

Cheers John. I was thinking of potential.

No one has mentioned Fisher. I'm very impressed by him and I think he'll do well.

Frog: i have no doubt that Izzy Brown will establish himself in the premiership, i think he is a really exciting prospect.
I also think he'll be fantastic for us this season, he's that rare beast, a footballer with a brain. He'll learn from every appearance and get better as the season goes on. He's admitted that he could've gone to bigger clubs but came here to make sure he got a game, thats a strategy lacking in so many young players.

I find it sad that he's getting some critisism on here, people calling him lazy, a luxury player, even suggesting he's only being picked because it's in his contract ! I don't think people recognise how lucky we are to have him and what a coup it was to get him.

The one downside of having him is that he's far more effective at number 10 than on the wing, which means sticking to one up front- a formation that is apparently clueless and defeatist even though most of the top teams in the country play that way.

I was surprised that he played the two games after it was said that he was ill.

    England didn't take the risk.

Could Camp cut the mustard do you think?

Fisher and Camp. Both good but they are not going to get to play in a Prem side imo. Unless we storm up of course!

with the few teams that I,ve seen at the NYS this season with "ex" prem playersin them,e.g. newcastle, cardiff and so on,we have a few players who could play in the prem. And then you say yes and then get relegated! just like newcastle, cardiff and so on.
I would like to sum up but my brain is hurting.

I think theres 2 certain future premier league players in our squad but unfortunately they're not our players in Brown and Fry. I think we have some potential young players of our own but nobody knows what level they're gonna reach, id say Ball, Fisher have best chance of our own players but i reckon Newell and Clarke-Harris are still young enough to improve alot especially if they get a run of games and gain alot of confidence. Just a shame Clarke-Harris got injured because i had a feeling that this was the season when we see him blossom into a good championship player.
