Romared Match Thoughts Peterborough United v Barnsley

Over the last couple of weeks we've gone from the sublime ( Luton Town ) to the ridiculous ( Port Vale ) with a 6 out of 10 performance sandwiched in between against Stockport County .

God only knows which Barnsley team will turn up tomorrow afternoon at London Road .

Huge game for me , the chance to progress to the 3rd round and pull a plumb tie , the prize money on offer tomorrow and the opportunity to put that dismal performance and result behind us from the other night .

    We live in hope .

I have just seen the team and I must extend my sympathy for any of our poor fans who have paid out for this , when you have Degiviney and Rooney in the same defence it is not going to end well plus we have absolutely no bite or energy in the middle of the park, Phillips , Russel and Vickers who between the three of them could not tackle a chip supper , this is the sort of side we should have put out at Port Vale , we need to progress with january on the horizon there could be a lot of money swinging on this result which could have a major bearing on the transfer window, I just do not get it. Hopefully I am wrong but all I can see is another humiliating defeat and a kick in the teeth for our loyal travelling fans.

I've just noticed that our goalkeeper Jackson Smith played for Rochdale in an earlier FA cup tie against York City and he's on our bench this afternoon .

I'm not entirely sure what the rules are if he doesn't have to come on but I know if he does we will be disqualified again just like we were two years ago despite beating Hosham .

Wish I could change my prediction! We have no chance with that line up.
Gent a left back who has been out for months partners Rooney who is hopeless in the centre of defence....WTF?
Bland at RB, Mael at LB? Why not put Barrett in the centre and with Mael, Gent at LB and Bland RB?
Kelly centre with Phillips, no DKD or McGoldrick who are clearly being rested for Lincoln, which wouldn't have been required if he had put out a weakened side in the tin pot cup!!
Jalo again has been out for months up front and when he tires on comes Farrell who has just returned from injury!!!!
Disaster about to unfold, the question i'm asking is? Is Conor trying to get the sack?
I will be absolutely amazed if we get anything from this game and i'm hoping to eat humble pie but can't see it!

My mistake DKD is playing! Jalo and Phillips replaced 2nd half for Connell and Kelly.
Not doing too bad so far with a makeshift defence!

Just shows how much I know about football , spouting my doom and gloom !!! what do I know , well done to the Reds , through to the next round with a clean sheet to boot !!! I listened to the commentary on Radio Sheffield and sounded like we fully deserved it , a very important win now to take into Lincoln on tuesday

Really pleased by that result , it didn't sound like much of a game but that doesn't matter just as long as you progress through to the next round .

I always think in the draw for round 3 you want either a money making tie against one of the top PL clubs OR you want a tie that offers further progress .

We don't for example want Millwall away .

Seems a long time since we pulled a plumb FA cup home tie and I reckon by the law of averages we are due one .

Ipswich away it is then ........... ???

You and me both Shads! I?ve eaten humble pie before and quite like it, cos it means we won!
I listened on BBC and apart from 10 mins at the end of the 2nd half it sounds like we controlled the game very well.
Hopefully we don?t draw Port Vale in round 3.

Really pleased for the lads that played yesterday. Needed a reaction from the Port Vale game and got it.

I am especially pleased for Georgie Gent making his comeback. I liked him before his injury so let?s hope he can get back to that.

For the next round, as always I want either a lower league team (that we would hopefully beat with a rotated side) or a big premier side. Be nice for our fans to get a trip to the new Everton ground, which looks very smart in my opinion.
