    Squad and players

Maybe it?s time we look at players and squad as well. Sure, there are huge problems with Nestor, Ramsay, and before Mason. I wrote this some days ago on another thread.

?I don?t think our players and squad are good enough to be anywhere else at the moment tbh.

Maybe we have players who can match players from other teams when it comes to name, experience, strength, speed, technical abilities etc, etc.

But, to make a good player you also need mental strength, the right mentality, grit, fighting spirit, desire etc, etc. And, all in all, too many of our players lack that immensely - and therefore they are inferior to the players of Hull, Millwall etc.

Why, I don?t know, some of them maybe too (old and) complacent, and not hungry enough any more, and some of them may lack it from the start (Iling-Junior?).

You can see that also in many individual sports, two athletes with similar physical attributes and strengths, and the mentally stronger wins, part of the whole package.

    We, constantly and repeatedly, fold??

I certainly share your view regarding Nestor. The buck stops there.
Notwithstanding, there is clearly confusion amongst the team as to what their individual roles are. But indeed the lack of game management breeds this folding demise.

I've never rated the squad since the end of last season. To weak in all departments.
I disagree with Al, when he says our squad is as good as others like Millwall etc....I just don't see it.
It's a poor squad with even poorer leadership qualities all around. I think the drop down might be unavoidable now, mainly because there is no real experienced management or players for the task immediately at hand.
Namely avoiding relegation. Doesn't look like they are capable of mounting a fight back.

After last nights performance Dubs you are right and my assessment is wrong. It?s not just skill but like Swedish says - determination, grit and mentality which we are missing. Does not help with inexperienced managers at the helm.

I can see us losing the next two away games too then it will be a downward slope.

Even if, by some miracle, we avoid relegation, I can’t see this coach, this ‘leadership’, being anywhere else in the Championship other than the relegation dogfight. Sad days.
