Gloves for the outfield players to protect them from the rain?

Gore back. Losing run gone. Nombe should play a part. Odegboyega should feature. Should be looking for a win, but taking something from the game is critical going into two we'd expect to lose (based on form, at least) and then three (maybe four) proper relegation battles.

But... I'd guess at comfortably under 7,000 fans, poor weather, soggy pitch, bad atmosphere, and two low scoring teams... I'd expect a scrappy 1-0/0-1.

No excuses if we don?t win this. Northampton?s best player is out injured and Man U have recalled star striker Wheatley. They are highly likely to be relegated.

Rotherham United's first ever meeting against Northampton Town took place at the old County Ground, a ground that was one of the first away grounds I went to (after Bramall Lane and Prenton Park) back in November 1989. I always remember that match for the Rotherham manager at the time, Billy McEwan, who went and stood with the Northampton fans at the side of the cricket pitch rather than take his place in the dug-outs on the opposite side. Rotherham won their first ever meeting 3-1 on Boxing Day of the 1963//64 season. Goals from Albert Bennett, Brian Tiler and Ian Butler for Rotherham, Frank Large for Northampton. Ive no idea how 15,000 crammed into that ground. The return game two days later at Millmoor gave Rotherham a 1-0 win thanks to an own goal by Terry Branston in the 66th minute.

In the 22 home fixtures against Northampton Town, Rotherham have won 55% (12 matches), drawing 18% (4), and losing 27% (6). Rotherham have recorded an average of 1.45 goals per game, compared with Northampton’s 0.91.

The two clubs have met at all three Rotherham grounds with the highest attendance for a home match coming at Millmoor when 11,273 saw a 1-1 draw in November 1964, Derek Leck after 17 minutes for Northampton, Ian Butler equalising on 67 minutes for Rotherham.
The lowest attendance for this fixture took place at Don Valley Stadium, 2,490 in November 2010. A Tuesday night match that finished 2-2, Ryan Taylor in the 4th minute and Marcus Marshall in the 19th for Rotherham. Abdul Osman for Northampton in the 23rd minute and Andy Holt a minute later.
In all home fixtures against Northampton Town attendances have averaged 6,272.

Prediction: Rotherham have kept a clean sheet in only 3 out of their 13 home matches this season, those clean sheets coming against Exeter City, Leyton Orient and Lincoln City. I was pretty confident of a win on Saturday, more than I were of tonights match, still I'm going for a 1-0 home win.

Providing the rain stops around 2pm as suggested, then the match should be on.

We thought judgement day was last Saturday but for me this is THE one. Lose this and even I the believer of all stay ups will be thinking that's it. I am though until the game is over, extremely optimistic we will win this game by 2 if not 3 goals.

Why am I thinking that? The rot has to stop somewhere it cannot carry on like it has. Most of our players are out of contract at the end of the season and this is usually the time they pull their socks up trying to impress for a new one or, to put themselves, while there's still time, in the January transfer window. It all bodes well for a great team effort.

Hopefully Gore back and to start, Spence (great game Saturday), Powell (great engine) will work their midfield magic and keep the ball ON THE GROUND thus allowing us to avoid hoofball and get that ball forward to Nombe/Gray to get them goals.

Does he go with three at the back again? Last chance Matthew do you stick or twist?

When you're in the relegation spots, all games are "must win",but i feel this one is more so than most.
We must build on Saturday's draw and get on a run, surely this is easiest game to do it.
    I reckon 3-1 to us.
