SBRed Match Thoughts Huddersfield Town v Barnsley

A local derby against old rivals Huddersfield Town who we beat pretty convincingly early in the season at Oakwell if I remember right .

I'm not expecting a repeat by any means but despite one of the best budgets in the league the dog botherers can blow hot and cold especially at home .

Could be our day if we get our noses in front because I understand the locals aren't too forgiving these days at Huddersfield and are soon on the players backs .

Not sure how to call this, we are due 3 points on the road and we all know that on our day we are more than capable, we had the boost of a win the other night whilst the Terriors have recently stuttered so the common sense side of me says that it has draw written all over it , we will see.

Well for 45 minutes it look promising after McGoldrick's superb opening goal and we looked well set for the win .

Trouble is you more or less know that we can shoot ourselves in the foot and undo all that good work in a flash which is exactly what happened .

We've beaten ourselves more than the opposition have this season and it shows no signs of ending .

Until that defence is totally rebuilt then unfortunately at best we are a lower midtable league one team , at worst is something we may not want to see because that's bottom four and we aren't safe yet .

That goal from McGoldrick was pure class. We have seen him do it for other teams countless times over the years.

The second half was awful. Hardly any urgency, even when the 4th official put 11 minutes up, that should have been us upping the ante massively but I didn?t get that feeling.

Yet again our defending was abysmal. The space we offer opposition is criminal and offers no surprise how many goals we have conceded this season.

1st game ive watched for weeks.

    nowts changed post transfer window.

    Another defensive groundhog day.

I hope this summers player turnover renews my interest in this football club!
