This is typical Pace everyone has appointed but not BFC he is now spineless as well as sucking the life out of our club. He is unable to make a decision. We will be picking from the dregs at the bottom of the barrel. This process will see us doing the same with signings.

New Manager - Pace sucking out the soul of BFC

All the moaning about Pace et al on here does intrigue me.
The majority of fans wanted rid of of the old board because they considered that they were not good for the club and that they would not spend money etc., etc.
The takeover took place and we went from a club with a balance of 51 million in credit to a club which suddenly was in debt to a large amount, however, don't forget that this was what a lot of fans wanted.
Since then, three relegations and two promotions have ensued, however, the debt for which the club is now responsible is rising bby the day.
Where does it end?
Are we really that better off as a club then we were when we were enjoying a decent spell in the PL under a smashing manager who achieved miracles with a very small budget or ----are we better off now as a yo-yo club with the string getting increasingly longer in the efforts to get back?
Question is:- which Board did you trust -----the old established lot or the recent set up? Answers on a postage stamp--- which are becoming rarer every day because 'they' want us all to be digital.

The debt we are carrying Supersub6 will be unsustainable unless we go straight back up and that really bothers me.
The middle ground somewhere in between Garlick's parsimoniousness and Pace's munificence would suit me better.
I'm pretty sure we will see the departure of more than 100 millionquidsworth of footballers in July/August just to balance the books.
Terrier Taxis have already reserved airport departure seats for Esteve, Hartman, Flemming, Ugochukwa, Amdouni and Mejbri.
We urgently need a new manager to organise the imminent exodus.

If they were 100% convinced with Gerald, surly he would have been appointed by now.
I have a feeling this new guy who is working between us and Espanyol as thrown a spanner in the works with a list of foreign candidates
I have a feeling the man at the helm could be more Pedro Sanchez than Stevie G

As always sub a well balanced post - my only question would be could we have kept doing what we were doing under Dyche ? The investment would have had to happen to sustain and even keep championship status never mind premier league.Originally posted by Supersub6 View PostAll the moaning about Pace et al on here does intrigue me.

Football has moved at a furious pace over the last several years and Imo we could not have kept going like we were without substantial investment- now I?m not saying this lot in charge are perfect they?re not and leveraging the club and debt was a farce anyway but in the time since then we have watched top class teams coming to the turf, I think if we?re honest even ALK are small fish in a massive pond since they joined
I will say they have tried to support the managers but I guess have made mistakes as we all do - reality is you need a lot more money than they seem to have available, and you also need everything else to be aligned to stay in the premier league.
My honest opinion on last season is the manager cost us a chance at staying in the league , I?m not convinced the players who are deemed rubbish by some on here are as bad as we?ve seen.
By that I mean we may not even be criticising the owners if we?d stayed in league and basically had a go.
Instead we find ourselves in a potential fire sale and re build again.

What are you whining on about
Paces last 2 appointments and only appointments, both got us promotion at the 1st go. The biggest disappointment has been that the pair of them weren't upto it at Premier League level, and should have both been sacked around October of there respective seasons

So , why weren?t they sacked.? Does Pace care about our club or not. ?Originally posted by ballcock View PostWhat are you whining on about

All revolves around money to pay off a contract if they are sacked. In addition to paying up their contract you also have to offer the incomer an attractive deal and a long enough contract to make the position attractive.Originally posted by malwayne View PostSo , why weren?t they sacked.? You can very easily end up throwing money away which is not a great idea with the debt we are sustaining anyway.

I think I would keep stum in the current circumstances if I were Pace but I will try and help you with that problem BT with some potential communication and soundbites that Pace could give fans :-Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostMy BIG problem with Alan Pace is his lack of transparency and fan communication.
I honestly do not think he gives a $hit about Burnley Football Club's fans or the global fan base other than to extract money from it.
The five year plan to become an established EPL club has now been extended to a 10 year plan
We are skint.
Nobody wants to lend us any more money
I prefer life in Barcelona to Burnley
The search for a new manager is on going and we will provide further updates as soon as we find a candidate who has any confidence in me and/or the recruitment team
Following our third relegation from the EPL in 5 seasons since taking over the club we will stick to our principles and sell all our star assets this summer and will have a bunch of loanees and free transfers in place by the end of the transfer window.
I hope this helps BT.Last edited by ClaretinBudapest; 09-06-2026, 05:13 AM.

Pace is heavily invested personally in the club, so yes of course he cares. Pace and his family also reside in Lancashire, more than could be said for Garlick who I believe was London basedOriginally posted by malwayne View PostSo , why weren?t they sacked.? Does Pace care about our club or not. ?
Anyother club would have sacked both Kompany and Parker but for reasons unknown Pace didn't. AT a guess I would say it is because of our finances, and the facts that very few managerial changes work in the Premier league when in the relegation zone

I?m not quite sure how to appease the fanbase tbh as if we?d stayed under garlick and co we?d probably be a league one / lower championship side over the last 5 years.
Whilst ai appreciate the leverage of buying the club since then the owners have tried to support the managers in promotion pushes.
The bit I don?t get is we?ve gone from garlick a rich man to a small consortium ( slightly richer men ) but still not bottom less pockets who are running this club as a business ( that?s what it is ).
I also accept they?ve made some bad decisions keeping Parker on being one of them but I. Truth they set him on and got us promoted again - they gambled on Kompany and he delivered ( best football at the turf for some time ).
So whilst I understand people s frustrations the reality is I kind of understand their way as well and I don?t think they don?t care - mistakes yes definitely but not all bad.
As a business I suppose you have to look at things differently even in football - we had garlick who knew he didn?t want to invest anymore money ( so that scuppers everything- yes we were cash in the bank but reality is going nowhere football wise )
So now we owe money accepted but we?ve watched premiership football but haven?t been able to sustain that level so we have to sell some of the assets to balance the books.
The fence is where I?m sat as everyone?s points are valid really - just don?t think that unless you have copious amounts of money it would be much better under anyone else -
