Forgive my ignorance but when my kids were playing F1 simulation games they just sat on a chair at the kitchen table! I guess the experience is enhanced in a specialist rig and as you say if hes got the dosh....

Im also just staggered at the concept of a pro gamer - a schoolfriend of my oldest decided to become a pro gamer at 14 and he has made a decent living out of it. It doesnt make sense to me to pay in order to eg watch e-football on TV (Ive seen it on Sky Sports) yet my sons tell me that countless people watch games on line (and pay) to see others playing games. I suppose you could argue that its no different to watching "real sport" - maybe Im just being grumpy old git.

Kitchen table kits don't give you the full experience and feel. A proper rig does.

Major summer sporting fix for me on Saturday at 3.00pm. The RL Challenge Cup Final at Wembley between Hull KR and Wigan. Hopefully HKR win following Wigan’s antics of last Friday, but more importantly, hope it’s a good game.
Usually is and for anyone new to the sport, give it a go and compare and contrast the histrionics we regularly see on the football pitch with the genuine bravery and athleticism on show from the far less well remunerated RL equivalents.

Being the son of a Newton le Willows lass, I've always been Wigan. No reason to change now.

World Cup of Darts coming up as well. Commonwealth games to look forward to.

Oh MA, such treachery! Newton-le-Willows is in the borough of St. Helens…Wigan’s fiercest rivals.

Mam was Wigan too. As was her dad who died before she reached her *****. Her stepdad, who was somewhat of a b'stard, was Saints...

Fair enough. With Leigh’s ascendancy in recent years there’s a lot of competition in that part of the world and Warrington is very close too.
Wigan play Saints in the women’s ‘warm up’ final at lunch time. Guess we’ll be on different sides, but I suspect your lot will win, although I’m backing another Hull (KR) Wembley victory, by about 10 points, in the main event.

Meant to be about 28 degrees at Wembley today. Rather them than me!

Certainly didn’t see that thrashing coming, MA. Pie eaters were worthy winners, only team in it. Strange how a Wiganer is allowed to referee Wigan in such a big match. Couldn’t happen in football, but made no difference. HKR unlucky with injuries but didn’t turn up in the second half.

Meat and potato pie, in a cob, actually. Over the last several decades, Wigan have been my success story. The Rams and Derbyshire Cricket Club and the Toronto Blue Jays (who, BTW, do delightful foot long sausages, proper ones, not those awful frankfurter things) in the American rounders for men league have not given me a great deal to celebrate.

I'm not sure what element of American "sausages in a bun" at rounders games I hate most.... the bread and sausages are not good, the red and white sauces both evil and the yellow stuff is mustard in name only

I’m first and foremost a Roughyed and remember being chased the length of Central Park (now a Tesco) back in the late sixties after a Wigan victory over Oldham. It used to be a regular fixture but my Super League team of choice has always been Saints.
I think we’ll renew this friendly rivalry twice more in July, although I suspect it’ll be me eating humble pie, especially if Wigan keep turning up diamonds like Jack Farrimond who, imo, was brilliant at times yesterday and has probably got another twelve years ahead of him at the very top…even if he does support Leigh.

I used the term "delightful foot long sausages" for a reason. That being that they were excellent. I'm with you on the bread roll though, that was not of the best quality by a long chalk. Sausage very good, probably as it's Canadian and not US. Blue Jays might have given a clue as they play their home games in Toronto, which is in Ontario, Canada.

Interesting score in rugby league championship - London Bronco beat North Wales Crusaders (away from home) 134-0. The second time they have scored over 100 against the same team this season....

More points in 80minutes than runs per innings that NZ averaged with the bat

Seems to be one of the problems with RL, and to a lesser extent, RU of late, GP. The gulf in class is ridiculous and who’d pay to watch that. Remember losing 0-57 to a touring Irish side once who should have been playing Fylde but because of a cock up played us instead. It was embarrassing…can’t imagine what 134-0 would feel like.
