Stop that now. Everyone else is a racist in Swales head. He and his comments would never stretch to such boundaries. You are all thick and gullible can you not see that,

Basically, the NIC increase is something that could have been done with a far lower increase, if every cabinet from the past 60 years had had the common sense to do what just about everybody knew was coming, make provision for when the baby boomers all hit pensionable age and the problems that would cause. They never did because they knew it would lead to them losing seats. All looking after themselves rather than the country.
‘That bus slogan was an example, not a promise’. Technically you’re right, but everyone knows that in the build up to the Referendum it provided the single most visible and iconic campaign slogan, and held huge appeal to those who seldom think beyond the most simplistic level where politics are concerned.

Couldn’t agree more with your second paragraph, MA.

Tricky...you need to listen to Jeffrey Donaldson this morning rather than banging on about Swale and Barnier. He’s justifiably critical of the EU’s behaviour but, somewhat ironically given Arlene Foster’s stance over Brexit, he also talks of how Northern Ireland’s future was sacrificed on the altar of another populist slogan, ‘let’s get Brexit done!’

Worryingly? It’s what happens when common sense is applied to a situation which has an ultimate ‘endgame’ which everyone needs to, but no one wants to, recognise.

Frankly, imo, science has placed far too much emphasis on extending life, but, crucially, not necessarily on an attendant quality of life...and religion has screwed the rest up.

Personally, and as with most on here this could happen any time from this afternoon to 25 years time, if and when the time arrives for me to need feeding and toileting I’d rather take a pill and slip away peacefully. There’s probably some politician/accountant somewhere currently considering what the charge should be.

I think in your case we could do it at cost

And think, if we play a bit of Peer Gynt we could solve world hunger too

But, and I must get out of this habit, I tend to agree the sentiment

Do not virtually all organised religions challenge the concept of assisted dying/euthanasia?

                    1. The bus slogan
Does it pale in comparison with WW3/Unemployed up by 4 million/ house prices to fall by 35%/ Each family 4.5k worse off/ emergency tax rises/ planes won't be able to fly/ we can't go to Europe. The slogan was an awful, tactile thing. MY MATE fARAGE SLAUGHTERED IT. But the above, were all banded about by Cameron/ Osborn and the collective squealers as FACT!

                    2. JD is right. Personally I have and still do blame May, for that awful Quisling agreement she signed to set it up. Not defending Johnson with what he signed. I personally would rather we had stuck to the WTO terms than give in to it.
But I will go on about Barnier and the EU, using it as a weapon, as that is what they have/still do.
It's a sensitive issue in the UK and they have no right to stoke that fire.
Amazing how they can do this with UK /Irish relations, yet Merkels succesor Armin Laschet, wants the UK back in the EU army plan, despite Brexit. Who's taking the piss out of who here?

                    • Sometimes, you just have to laugh. You couldn't make this **** up

The European Union’s former top Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has called on France to restore its legal sovereignty by bringing the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights to heel, in yet another spectacular move in his increasingly Eurosceptic campaign to become French President.

“On immigration, we must regain our legal sovereignty so that we are no longer subject to the rulings of the European Court of Justice or the European Court of Human Rights” said Barnier, who negotiated Britain’s continued members of the European Court of Human Rights during Brexit talks.

However we are a minimum of £440 million per week worse off and the rest to come.

May's "backstop" was actually better than Johnson's agreement, which he signed and committed to, but what part of why the Ni is an issue do you not understand? Is it too complicated for you to try and work it out or are you just such a slave to anything that fits in with your agenda that you believe any old horse**** peddled by a media, paid for by the rich elite who don't give a **** about you?

You ignore everything the UK government has done, and blame the EU for everything, either you don't understand politics OR your simply thick! I know the media sources you read simplify issues and slant them to the extent they bear no relation to the truth, but a half sentient being would at least recognise that maybe the UK government isn't blameless in the way it has handled matters and is continuing to handle things?

The EU is not doing anything about Irish/UK relations - that was down to the pig headed DUP who live in the last century who backed Brexit and supported the Tory's in it, when actually the majority of the population of NI didn't want it.
But even then the difficulties with the protocol are largely down to the UK not doing what they said they would do (like have a functioning IT system) and its the UK government using the protocol to try and screw concessions out of the EU, which were never on offer.

Jeez, the EU have actually bent over backwards to accommodate the UK, they could in theory be taking legal action against the UK for breach of international law now, but are holding off in an attempt to reach an agreement.

Every time you post you just amplify your ignorance of any actual facts, you parrot crap put out by dodgy internet sources, wouldn't be surprised to hear your a QAnon believer next!

Putting your usual insults to one side Mr clown.

I am still awaiting an answer on this.

The Prince of EU negotiation, now throws his hat into the French election ring-

"On immigration, we must regain our legal sovereignty to no longer be subject to the judgments of the ECJ or the ECHR. We will propose a referendum in September [2022] on the question of immigration," he said at a campaign event in Nimes.

Can you explain to me, how that is ever possible being a member of the EU?
Being a bit thick perhaps I missed it and he's thinking of taking France out of it as well?
Or maybe he's taking you and your wing mans approach and thinks that after all this time, he can cherry pick and change the EU from within?

Oh dear, you know I did warn you about how thick and stupid your posts make you look!

What he was referring to was immigration from outside the EU which is something that is exercising most countries within in the EU.

The comments are a more extreme version of actual EU policy. Politicians of all hues have accepted that freedom of movement inside Europe requires the tightening of restrictions against non-Europeans. “Fortress Europe” is the price of Schengen. If you'd actually informed yourself about this issue, then you would perhaps of noticed that the Danes have a similar attitude and of course the Hungarians are right up there with their actions.

So no for your information he isn't thinking of taking France out of the EU, he is in fact echoing Eu Policy but in a more extreme fashion to position himself right of centre and look to take votes from the far right Front National (as the Tories did in the UK with UKIP)

So as usual your wrong, but then when you take your sound bites from the media and internet sources you do, I guess being right and well informed isn't easy!

                                yearh right.
                                Of course,

we must regain our legal sovereignty to no longer be subject to the judgments of the ECJ or the ECHR.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ, French: Cour de Justice européenne), formally just the Court of Justice, is the supreme court of the European Union in matters of European Union law. As a part of the Court of Justice of the European Union, it is tasked with interpreting EU law and ensuring its equal application across all EU member states under Article 263 of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union

Don't worry though, I'm sure Barnier will consult you Swale before acting.
