Sorry rA, I find it hard to avoid baiting both AF and Thicky, I just know one or the other will not be able to resist a response, usually one that makes them look foolish! One finds one pleasure where one can!! The irony of course is that if both had just ignored me, (lets face it, the matter hardly bears discussion really) then I wouldn't bother, but its mildly amusing when Thicky goes off on one.

OMG, you really are Dim aren't you? I mean I'm not quite sure why you and AF get so worked up about me saying I have you on ignore, its bizarre and frankly a little childish! The amount of posts you two do to reply to me, and the way you in particular get really worked up about it is the real comedy gold.
I mean every time I pop the bait out, one or both of you can't resist posting a response, when any half intelligent adult, would just ignore it.
Oh and its cursory glance back at your posts over the last few months would show I don't make a response to most of them, so hardly obsessed my little gammon friend.
It just gets funnier. "here boy, come on"

Nominted for stupidest post of the year 2
From the one claiming to use the "ignore" button, yet responding over and over at posts not even including him.

The bait goes out, the fish come swimming! Pure comedy gold my little gammon friend, its like pavlovs dog, so funny. Please do enlighten me where I have posted "over and over" to posts not including me? I mean obviously you don't understand how quotes work - so if I see one of your inane comments quoted by another poster, I may or may not respond. But hey it clearly riles you so much, that its very funny.Originally posted by Trickytreesreds View Post

I would respectfully ask the moderator to delete anymore ignore/not ignore posts in this and other threads. It's more than played itself out and is extremely annoying to all but the two protagonists.
We are all now aware that...
1. ignore sees you get a message saying you're ignoring the poster and, if you want to read this one post, click here.
2. You will see, but don't have to read, ignored posts that are quoted by someone else
3. it seems you don't get the ignore message on a phone, just a laptop/PC. Weird but that is how it seems
Those are facts, not opinion. Time to put this issue to bed and if posters continue the spat then Admin needs to step in for the sanity of the rest of the forum.

Not so sure about "good thread" as much as "past it's sell by date" but still being ruined. Interestingly I went back and read the first page of the thread again, seeing some old names long since gone.Originally posted by macstheman View PostIt's beyond boring MA, unfortunately the Mod can't step in as he's equally responsible!!
A good thread being ruined as it seems the playground is winning!
The initial discussion topic was not about Brexit but rather who should be the next PM, so it's been off topic since then!! Oh yes and there's an early ("almost antique") example of rear gunnery on page 1which has been a consistent feature ever since.
Maybe it's time to let the thread die a natural death

I’ll also act on any name calling/insults either personal or general and party political comments in sport threads unless highly relevant
And IMO we have enough party political threads so unless there’s an overriding need, when they pop up I’ll merge them with the two we have

Why? Does that make any sense? Is that your role? Sorry but you’re a moderator not some sort of content censor, other than where personal comments and rule breaking are concerned.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View Post

Like it or not the two (three if you count the one you’ve already closed without good cause) have generated more debate on here than any others.
There is an overlap between the Brexit thread and the ‘Careless Tories’ thread...of course there is...but it is no more than that and it would, imo, be wrong and confusing to merge them.
What if someone wants to start a thread about such disparate political issues as the Ukraine situation, Chinese surveillance, strikes, the NHS, the role of the Lords, countryside ‘sports’, the current Covid enquiry etc etc...they are all quite separate. If people want to discuss them the posts will flow...if they don’t the thread will die. It’s natural selection and doesn’t require you to be deciding what should be allowed or artificially merged...it’s not up to you and would be totally unprecedented imo.Last edited by ramAnag; 15-02-2023, 09:38 AM.

This is a bizarre post at best! How can a post with Brexit in the title not be about Brexit? Sure laughingly Farage was suggested as being the person most would want as PM (a ludicrous suggestion even then) but to take Brexit forward!Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostNot so sure about "good thread" as much as "past it's sell by date" but still being ruined. Not a great grasp of reality (even when its in front of one)! Are you sure you read the posts in the front of the thread?
As for having died a death? You can't be serious? The reality is starting to bite and this will be a hot topic going forward. After all if your not interested, don't bother with reading the thread!

On the other hand, it gets my vote Andy. This is a football platform, not a political one. Sure members can ignore (oops, that word again) them if not interested but where do you draw a line? Shall we suddenly have masses of discussion on mining technology, the tax treatment of research & development costs or Paralympic swimming championships?
It's a football forum (the clue is in the name) and this should be the focal point of the platform. If you want to widely debate politics go to somewhere that specialises in it.
