I admire your faith in her ability.

Personally I don't think she has the intelligence to be so creative but who knows.

No need to apologise, AF, although I don’t think I ever went off topic. Just tried to add a perspective…that the underrepresentation of black and Asian where certain activities are concerned is rather more important than how ‘mad’ a Reform MP feels about adverts.

As regards your ‘95% of thousands of comments support her sentiment’. I guess that depends where you look.

      • Both my lads would gladly attend a Pink Floyd concert although one is a metal head and the other Techno. They have both been "subjected to a wide variety of sounds when they were growing up. From me, obviously Soul and R&B but also Beatles, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Reggae, Ska, two Tone... Their Mam is a rock chick so they also got to hear a wide range from her.

I'm glad they got to listen to a wide range of genres and grew up to appreciate various kinds of music.

        • Let me draw a line under this. I couldn't agree less. It's up to them to select their preferred entertainment and ensure it's personally affordable. You can even have the last word as I'm sure you will want.

Likewise. As I’ve said before, politics divide, sport provokes, music unites. Currently digging professor Nick Harrison who, amongst other daft things, Delights in rock/funk mashups with an infectious smile

            • You're lucky MA I tried to lead my boys down the "school of rock"" route but whilst we succeeded in bypassing pop/boy and/girl and drivel they were eventually lost to rap and it's many sub genres. One faint glimmer remains in that my youngest still enjoys some guitar music but the war has been lost despite the odd battle being won. We have totally avoided soul (thankfully IMHO) but the influence of girlfriends may yet bring that into play. (No disrespect to your preferences intended!)

Hmmm…maybe, just maybe, MA was more open minded and persuasive than your good self and didn’t try to…now how did you put it…oh yeah, that’s it, ‘impose values/enjoyment on people with different values, interests and ages just because YOU think YOU know what’s best for them.’

Funnily enough I still go to some gigs with my kids.

Lol…wouldn’t know, but Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Paul Heaton, the Police, the Christians, Echo and the Bunnymen, Elbow, Doves, Billy Bragg, Arcade Fire, Roger McGuinn, Deacon Blue, Richard Hawley, The Zutons and The Fratellis are amongst those on the list. Some they grew up with, others they’ve introduced to me.

Au contraire, Rog. They are and if you’re implying, in your own inimitable way, that I’m somehow anti the religious version, you couldn’t be more wrong. Mistrusting most organised religion and being opposed to Christianity are two very different things.

                          • but werent they scousers and with you being, in round terms, a mank.....surely you'd be fighting over that rat in the bin?

At this point can I ask if anyone else is getting warning messages from Norton that it has shut down multiple tracking cookies emanating fro Footymad? Just letting everyone know as I perhaps have a more high octane version on my business laptop.....

I've warned you before about thinking what's on social media reflects what the broader population are thinking!! Still good to see that a racist MP with absolutely no principles or ability to think about what she says is in line with your infamous post some time ago. Looks like Reform is the party for you!!

What's missing of course in this debate is that despite the ludicrous whinges about DEI in advertising, is that if it wasn't good business, companies wouldn't be doing it.

Aside from that, of course if those like yourself are "triggered" by a person who is not white appearing in an advert, a film or on TV etc. Then its you who has the problem, which is that rather than seeing the person, your obsessed with the ethnicity of that person!

But its the same old guff from people who have a very narrow perspective and are dogmatic about certain aspects of life.

In truth it matters not one jot to anybody who is capable of rational thought, but I guess its an easy distraction from actually providing solutions for issues.

It might be factual that at the present time ethnic minorities are "over represented" but no white person was moaning when white people were over represented, which they were for decades.
