  • According to my mates the bookies:

Somerset and Frome - a LibDem gain looks done and dusted.

Uxbridge and South Ruislip - a likely Labour gain, but not definite.

Selby and Ainsty - a 20% chance that the Tories hold.

For Magpies1959, my incontinence pants are still dry.

It will take a big swing for the Tories to lose one of them, and a massive swing to lose the other two.

Somerset and Frome - a huge majority for the Tories of over 19,000 votes looks highly likely to be overturned in favour of the LibDems.

Uxbridge and South Ruislip - vacant because of the resignation of Boris Johnson, who had a majority of over 7,000 at the last election. If Labour want to take power they have to win this, but the ULEZ issue might prove a spanner in the works.

Selby and Ainsty - a seat won by the Tories last time with a massive majority of over 20,000. Labour could easily overturn that, and if they do the Tory party will be sh!tting themselves.

I'll be watching with interest hoping this corrupt government get the severe kicking they deserve.
I wouldn't celebrate to much, for me the government of this country being in turmoil is a sad state of affairs. I support no particular party and the thought of keir Starmer and
the Labour doesn't give any reason for optimistic thoughts. Slava Ukraini! Yeah OK

If they happen, any celebrations will be confined to the Tories being booted out.

They need to become the past, but I can't see a bright future under Labour.

Just a slightly less corrupt future.

My thoughts exactly. This hopelessly incompetent but dangerously corrupt bunch of Tories need ousting ASAP, but the prospect of Keir Starmer offers little optimism. He comes across as lacking any conviction in anything and him and Ed Davey struggling to describe what a woman is really leaves me concerned. I might add I'm not anti trans, or anti anything for that matter - live and let live. My concern with this particular issue is the erosion of women's rights. Starmer stands for nothing and is clearly playing the game to enhance his election prospects, but in doing so seems to be appealing more to the status quo than offering any change. I fear he'll be Tory 2.0 in a red shirt.

I think the next election will be more a case of the Tories losing than Labour winning. I think we need 'None of the Above' as an option on the ballot paper to shock the complacent charlatans into the real world.

              • So the LibDems won one, Labour won one, and ULEZ won one.

The bigger picture is clear, I'll settle for that.

Absolutely, there needs to be a change but Labour are not the answer that's for sure. Politics in the UK needs a massive shake up but unfortunately it'll never happen.

                    • Great to see the lads who voted for the current mess confidently claiming ‘Labour are not the answer’. A little introspection wouldn’t go amiss here.

Don't include me in that. The current incumbents have not received a vote or any other endorsement from me. The business I work for operates in Europe and the Tories have done nothing but create problems for us.

                        • Introspection is the word of the month. I really hope Labour are the party to firstly, unite the country, and secondly bring some prosperity to everyone, but after much introspection, I cannot see this happening.

Unite the country and bring prosperity to everyone?

It probably won't happen under Labour.

It definitely didn't happen under the Tories, in fact they did the polar opposite.

                            • And yet another one bites the dust! - Ben Wallace resigns his Defence post and will stand down as an MP at the next election. That's two big hitters in just over a week what with that Nadine woman going as well. "Keep it going boys' hopefully won't be long before you are all out of a job
