At last people seem to be waking up to the fact that we are being run by a corrupt bunch of liars and cheats. Johnson has surrounded himself with people who are happy to lie and cheat on his behalf, so it will be up to the Tory backbenchers to remove him.

To emphasise what an utter farce this is, it now seems the bloke appointed to lead the Christmas party investigation is facing calls to be removed because it's emerged that Christmas parties were held in his department. If all of this was submitted as a script for 'Yes Minister', it would be rejected on the grounds of being too far-fetched!

I'm not much of a royalist so I forgot about her. Even though I don't like the idea of a Royal Family in principle, she comes across as a decent and honest person who has performed her role with dignity. If the choice was her or Boris, she would win hands down. Things are so bad that if the choice was Prince Andrew or Boris, I would have to sit on the fence.

What really annoys me is that Simon Case was put forward as the best person to lead the inquiry because he was morally beyond reproach. He was the person who would deliver an honest verdict on what actually happened. But he took on this role as the saintly judge in the full knowledge that he or his department had broken the rules. He was in it with the rest of them and only 'stepped aside' when he was caught out. There can be no better example of how deeply entrenched in the gutter this government is. We deserve so much better.

I don't envy Sue Gray, the person who has replaced him. Apparently she is "the second permanent secretary at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities". Or is she just the highest ranked in the cesspit who can absolutely say she has no skeletons in the cupboard? Seeing as I doubt there is anyone in the country with a double figure IQ who thinks that these parties didn't really happen, she either tells the truth and ends her Tory party career, or she joins the liars and cheats.

I've thought exactly the same from a very early stage. The outcome will be that 'some gatherings didn't fully comply with the rules, but the Prime Minister was unaware. Boris acted in good faith, and is utterly appalled at the way he was misled'.

For that to work, the public have to believe that Boris was completely unaware of what was happening in his own house. I realise that number 10 isn't your usual 'two up two down' property, but even Dominic Cummings testing his eyesight is more plausible.

Whatever everyone's differing opinions on the subject are,I think the whole board,perhaps with the exception of Soccerman,now agrees that Johnson is a Number Two.
