Lol… please let it be so… It honestly cannot be worse.Originally posted by SwalePie View Post
On a serious note… it’s high time the country accepts the fact that we cannot continue without rejoining the EU customs Union. The whole schit show of Boris Johnson’s hard Brexit is destroying trade in the UK. We cannot allow the Irish protocol to fail and you can take it to the bank that if we fail to do so… Scotland will be independent within the next few years.

He’s 5/6 to 1 now. I’m nowhere near as qualified as a lot of people on here to overly comment but have took more interest the last couple of years.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostNow she's toast matt, Boris is 11/1 to replace her:

All I have surmised is basically there’s not a lot of talented people in politics, a lot of backstabbing and thus I’d imagine a lot of MPs would have literally anyone in power if it meant it was the only way they’d stay in power. I genuinely think a lot of the people on the street still like Boris, they like his character/charisma.

You're on a roll these days CF...Originally posted by crazyfists View PostIt would be absolutely terrible to be back in the EU. Imagine having all those laws to help workers live a better life. I'd prefer to work 80 hour weeks for the bosses to make more money and will come to work even if my head falls off as no sick pay is great. I'm sure some of the bosses wealth will trickle down to me when I get a 6p pay rise. Imagine being in the EU with their bloody offensive clean water laws, I much prefer when I swim in the sea or paddle in a river to come out having swolled 2 pints of sewage and have 3 turds clinging to my legs. Imagine having the economy boosted by easier ways to do business with our biggest customer, no thanks I like red tape and massive shipping costs, it what makes us British. Imagine a human rights bill that protects people and being able to protest against things we don't like, best just to shut up and get on with it.
Our time in the EU saw us have a standard of living we've never seen before in this country. 2008 was the fault of the American sub prime mortgage disaster but yeah we had austerity/cuts not because of that and the tories but because of the bloody EU. Those fat cats in Brussels ****ing us all over.
I've still yet to hear one law that leavers could name that they wanted to change for our own good. I believe the farmers and fishermen aren't any better off now we've had Brexit and we can't sign deals with the US for our behaviour over the NI protocol. God Bless Britain.
As others have said, it's time the best of the parties got together under a new banner and sorted this country out best they can and set us on the right course.
I'll add to that the cherished curtailment of Freedom of Movement. But whose Freedom of Movement did they stop?
Well, European EU nationals can still rightfully settle and work in 27 other countries. They're still free to move
But British nationals went from being able to settle and work in 28 countries to just 1 (2 with Ireland I guess) and what a 1 that's turning out to be...
So yeah, stopping Freedom of Movement just cut off our own rights, nobody else's. I don't think there'll be peace until our children get these rights back

A lot of people are fickle and seeing what has ensued it may well be a case of the better the devil you know. I’m not fussed who gets it as long as they sort this mess out, not holding my breath though.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostAt the time of his resignation his popularity rating was -50.
That suggests an awful lot more people don't like him.

Johnson’s never sorted a mess out in his life. I honestly don’t think anyone could sort out the Conservative and Disunionist Party. It needs a lengthy spell in opposition.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostA lot of people are fickle and seeing what has ensued it may well be a case of the better the devil you know. This '100 backers minimum' thing will certainly narrow the field. Sunak should manage it, Johnson might, Mordaunt could struggle. Wallace is the one person who might unify the party to a degree, but he doesn't seem bothered. That leaves a nightmare scenario of Sunak and Johnson being put to the members. The members f@cked up big time with Truss, who's to say they won't do the same with Johnson?

My mum said better the devil you know when talking about Boris on the phone earlier. I'm horrified at the thought of the criminal getting his job back cause people think he's a good laugh.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostA lot of people are fickle and seeing what has ensued it may well be a case of the better the devil you know.
