I wish Kouyar all the very best and hope he proves me wrong...but would MKDongs, Walsall, Bristol Rovers or Chesterfield have made this signing? Absolutely not. Bringing someone in so we get games postponed during internationals is a very weak argument.
Walsall have signed two players from the NL South this summer, thanks for your extensive research on the topic before commenting

Players look better / worse dependant on whos around them, Langstaff looked a shadow of himself this season but looked great moving from NLN to Notts, its not as black and white and people make out on this board.

    Proper head coach changes everything.

No manager is this because they are all turning down the offer as they are aware of big changes, or is it they don?t like the constraints of the model. One thing seems certain no one seems to want the job!! Then we have 4 signings non of which I would rate on paper as good as Austin who we have let go. 3 of them recovering from injury so we have a squad at the moment that has lost talented players replaced by totally unknown and injury prone players. Is this again because the money is not being made available due to possible negotiations being played out ? No end of season review or statement of intent for the new season has been made by the Bros. I am possibly making 2+2=5 but something seems not right and I?m concerned it will be detrimental to our progress.
You often make 5 out of 2+2 looking back on your previous posts, hysteria personified.

Wait for the window to be done and a coach in place before making these kind of claims.

Things are so bad behind the scenes the Bros are funding a new training ground and a trip to Germany for 30+ people. Just chill out and enjoy summer man its not that serious

Walsall's signings are both 22 though. And the defender Burke was in the team of the year and managed to score more goals than Kouhyar from CB! He was the signing we should have made!

        Totally different gravy to Kouhyar.

        • For those who've not seen him in action yet. Quite a skillful, dual footed player.

I think Crawley signed a bunch of players from the NL and below and got promoted out of L2. It can be done.

Saw this yesterday and I've got to be honest my first thought was - how many of those chances are actually able to be converted at L2 level? Most are defended easily.

We have not finished that high for donkeys years be careful what you wish for.

Same could be said for Maynard the bloke got mocked but we could very well end up with worse and with the Italian Laptop running wild too im glad for Maynard sake he isnt here.
Last season Notts had the 2nd best away record in the division but struggled at home
                .
If I remember correctly, Curle presided over a great away record going 22 (?) games unbeaten. Unfortunately , the system didn't work so well at home with opposition teams employing a low press and happy for Notts to play possession football. Boucard being the key CM operative.
Notts missed out on the play offs after a final day 2-4 defeat v Bury at ML.
Ironically, a draw would have seen Notts qualify and trying to win the game after drawing level at 2-2 saw them beaten.

I ,personally, didn't want KC after Mad Dog was sacked but he won the fans over and did a great job !

We were talking to Graham Alexander , at Wimbledon , before the PO 2nd leg.
He praised Notts ' away record and said a one goal defecit was not a problem.
Conceding after just 8 minutes though was a major blow.

Chesterfield have shown their intent by signing Dylan Markanday. He had a great loan spell there and Leyton Orient before his release by Blackburn Rovers.

We won our last two games that season we beat Wycombe in injury time away and won easily last game too.

Still a record of 45% win ratio is very good if the results were flipped around he'd have stayed im certain of that.

Alexander is correct one goal you can comeback from & history of play off games shows this.

I have no gripes though as I didnt think we were good enough for promotion.

Impressive signing that. I thought he'd end up in L1. I can see Chesterfield being up there along with MKD.

I just hope we show a similar level of intent this summer.

Apologies for that lapse of memory.
From memory, I plucked out the Bury game as being decisive, recalling the equaliser at 2-2 and then losing 2-4. The game was an early kick off at 12.30.
I do recall shaking Curle's hand in the Pavis Stand and offering sympathy on just missing out on the Play Offs.

That would have been at the final home game which was against Colchester United.
The Bury defeat , proving crucial.
