3 yesterday and talked myself out of a 3 for a 4 today.

I've been doing Wordl for about 10 days now and have to say I have mixed feelings about it. Yes, there is some use made of the 'little grey cells' but too often for me it comes down to luck - both in the initial word selected and the choices one can make when substituting. There is no pattern of improvement that you can work towards; everyday it's fairly random

I tend to agree CT although there is some sense of achievement in working through the logic to get to the eventual answer. I remember I was cock-a-hoop the day I opened with UNCLE, got a green in 2 and 4 and devised KNOLL correctly on my 2nd guess. I haven't failed yet in 35 attempts so will keep going as long as the streak does and then I'll probably throw the laptop out the window In all those days there are still 5 letters of the alphabet that haven't ever been used so I wish they'd switch it up a bit.

Just tried it for the first time ever on the NYT website. Very odd. I prefer the Times on Saturday 10 letter anagram.

Quordle first failure today due to a complete brain fart on one guess after having 3 of the words in 6. I blame the Millers winning on distracting my train of thought as I was following the game at the same time

No doubt. Some people go with the same 1st word every day but to me that must be really boring. I go with a random but helpful word every day, usually one containing 2 vowels and 5 completely different letters from the previous day's word. The main pleasure in doing it is in solving it quickly if I get quite a few right from the off or in surviving under adversity if I get no letters at all in the first attempt (or first 2 attempts as I've had happen a few times). It's just a bit of fun, exercises the brain a little and can be done in a minute (sometimes) or can take 20 minutes.
