  • Had another man in the clubhouse last night. I was keeping up my form of getting hammered overnight but this guy is a nightmare - mixing strong lager, super strength cider, wine, perno and WKD to make what he called 'Plebby Bitch Snakebits'. After just a few he was getting violent, throwing furniture round, overturned the TV when a documentary on recent Labour Party leaders came on and when I asked him to calm down he kept making vicious throat sliiting gestures. I kept my head down in the corner and avoided his gaze as he continued shouting at things only he could see.

He had gone in the morning when I woke up and brushing aside the bottles and cans made my way out onto the court. My confidence was hit after getting only a parp yesterday after my two successive buzzards but a few snorts of my 'love powder' put me right and I served off.

Not as bad as yesterday but didn't go as far as I wanted, just skimmed the floor (2 y) Maybe I shouldn't have used the flat bat? I changed to that big fat one and slammed as hard as I could but skewed off to the side. (1g 1y)*******s. I'm losing the plot here and nipped into the bushes for a quick weep. Suddenly the love powder lifted my spirits and used a slanty bat which lifted the ball surprisingly stright onto the short grassy green bit with flag and I was near the hole for what turned out to be a simple conversion for another Parp.

After another poor start I considered my game. it's sh1t and I hate it.

Again, dispirited I went back to the clubhouse to start the day's proper manouvres and as I appraoched the door could already hear the screaming and snarling with accompanying slams and crashes with an unheard ferocity. I trembled at the door - this man is highly dangerous but this is where all of the drinks are. I had no choice but to slowly open the door. He stood menacing in the shadows, his face a grim mask of hatred and fury.

    "Hello Kerr".

    • Hole 6

Despite course being close to waterlogged hit a magnificent first shot over the dip to within 3ft of the pin 4Y

"These are easily missed" I thought to myself, but no, straight in for an Eagle 2 5G

      3 over for the round

(All holes based on an actual course. Any guesses ? Just wish I could replicate the scores with my clubs !)

      • A mighty iron drive straight down the fairway had me on the green and 12 inches from the hole in 2 shots. (4g and just the last letter missing.) Savoring a birdie 3 with an easy tap in I could not believe that some blithering idiot would drop a screw cap from the top of a vodka bottle right next to the hole. My ball pinged off it and finished a yard from the hole! Fortunately I sank that one for par - but it’s not good enough! Standards are dropping; they let anybody on to a golf course these days.

Heard there were some shenanigans going on back at the club house this evening….

        • Golf's a great leveler. Still giddy on the tee after the eagle on the previous hole. Bobbled one barely 20 yards but composed myself for a decent second. Then came the rookie error (forgetting to use a letter I already knew was in the puzzle :blue), pulled out a 6 iron instead of a 9 iron and fired my approach 30 yards over the green. Could still have recovered for a par (as I'd a sneaky feeling the 4th word I entered had already been used) but it wasn't to be. Bogey 5 and back to -2 after 6.

          • Think Brin might have stayed back in the clubhouse to watch Raging confront Kerr…

            • Apologies I’m late, some piss head challenged me to a full bottle drinking competition. He chose whisky i chose martini Rosso, love this neat and usually finish a full bottle on Xmas day evening after Corrie has gone off, I digress.

I was out to get back on track. More rain? Not put off, no jacket on just my old cardi for good luck. Stepped up to tee off, rolled my sleeves up to the elbows and bham! I’m away…..1y, 1g.

I ran off 7 iron in hand leaving my caddy to finish his second bottle… piss head!

Looked down took aim and I went straight through the ball lifted it high and to the left to take the dog leg, the tasty sized divot smacked an old dear to the ground. Well they will stand too close! Luvlee Shot 1y, 2g.

Rounded the bend I’m on the green! I knew I’d got this, “come on Brin” I told myself. A Hugh shout went up, the old dear hadn’t croaked it and was now on someone’s shoulders cheering me on.

A slide rule putt of 20 feet saw it drop in the goblet….yippee! 5g!!!!

              A 3 shot took me -1 under to + 3 after 6 holes…. The Brinster is back!

Congrats on the eagle, Bramley - nicely done!

No idea which course you're on. I'll guess Roundwood but you might just be knocking a ball around in Clifton Park for all I know...

Pulled my driver into semi rough. 1y
                    managed a lovely 5 iron to within 4 foot. 1y 2g
                    and putted out for a 3. 5g

Poor word but after second shot could have only been 1 answer.

I think you'll find that your 4 will be tough to beat topsy, horrible word today.

A 1 over par 5 today for me (18th Nov)

Completely sliced the ball off the tee, deep into the rough, in the driving wind and rain (0)
2nd shot saw me chip out of the rough and at least onto the fairway but well short of the green (1y)
3rd shot saw me hit the ball reasonably well but the strong wind put it into a bunker near the green (1y)
With my one yellow and the other letters I had left to use I couldn't think which club to use next as there wasn't anything that seemed to fit, so taking note of other players out came the vodka bottle and through my beer goggles I came up with a club that made perfect sense, but whilst it wasnt exactly what I wanted, it put me within 3 feet of the hole (2g+2y)
My last problem was that the yellows I had would only move to certain places and I couldnt make any word i knew with the letters left that I hadn't used, so it was going to be a guess for my 3 footer. Out came the putter and I hit it with more hope than expectation, but it caught the edge of the hole and circled the edge twice before dropping in (5g)

As I have said, a horrible word and I think par will be a good score. UTM

You put that up whilst I was putting mine up jake, and I couldnt see par getting bettered so congrats that is a fantastic score. UTM

Horrible conditions off the tee. Hit a driver that just took off in the wind. For one minute thought my ball was out of bounds. After 5 minutes searching found it in deep rough, 1 foot within the boundary. All I could do was hack out on the fairway. Shot 3 ended up 45 foot short on the edge of the green. Great putt into the middle of the hole for a par 4.

All sorts of hazards. Tricky hole with a forgiving green.
